My mum rented a VCR player for £3 a month for about 15 years
When it broke they always gave her a new one but jebuz £540 on a VCR, when she phoned them to cancel it because she had a DVD player they told her to just keep it. She still has it plugged in to the TV upstairs.

I'd get the bottom half so I could read the subtitles.

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:03, Reply)
Nah top half so you can see the tits on the Channel X preview

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:05, Reply)
As per the Steptoe ref
you want the half with the controls on. ..
(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:06, Reply)
Depends how much and how long you intend to keep it
I paid £850 for a 42" TV three years ago. I doubt its worth much now even though its mint. We have been together 7 years and in that time we have had 5 TV's and only have 2 of the five now, so renting would be a good idea if A. the price is right and B. you like to move with the times.

They're like £30 a month for a 32 inch.
It would have to fail once a year for it to be worth it.
(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:04, Reply)
Yeh fuck that

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:09, Reply)

Uxbridge, being the town it is, has one of those places where you can buy
cheap white goods/sofas/tellies/whatever, or get credit. The credit's for small amounts a month at an astronomical interest rate.

It's purely aimed at squeezing money out of people that can't really afford to buy things.

"Hey, you can buy this generic branded TV for 400 pounds! OR you can pay ten pounds a month for 40 FUCKING YEARS".

the lenders are taking on a huge risk by lending to povvos, the interest reflects this and is fair considering the circumstances

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:07, Reply)
In what world is £400 - their cut a "huge risk"

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:09, Reply)
It's not £400 though is it? It's the cost of everything that is out on credit

(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:12, Reply)
Bright House by any chance?
Reading the small print on the prices makes for a good laugh.
(, Thu 21 Feb 2013, 15:08, Reply)
