So, I purchased a packet of Feather blades. These are japanese and a reputed to be amongst the sharpest blades available on the market.
I was a little cynical that they would feel any different to the other blades I tried, and given that they cost about three times as much I wasn't sure they would even be good value for money.
However, I was wrong, they are noticeably sharper and appear to be long lasting too so they will be my blade of choice from now on.
As you were.

what were your capital costs to set up? and how do the running costs compare to disposables and shaving gel?

and the blades I like are £30 for 100, and each blade should last you about 4-5 shaves (more if you have soft girly fuzz).

You couldn't get a razor cheaper than £20, but you could buy blades that are only £10 for 100. But as I said in the OP, I think the extra money gives better value since the blades are sharper and last longer.

that this new found wonder in shaving is due to the novelty of the act, and that you have a beginners "Barry Mcguigain" top lip tache.
Once puberty fully kicks in you will be able to grow hair all over you body and then you will feel like a real boy.
