Seaburn beach
Grew up going there almost every week. Massive beach and a great wander along from Whitburn to Roker. I live near to Tynemouth Longsands now and that is also rather pleasant

Alt:
Me and about 8 mates walked into the sea at Whitburn fully clothed then along at around neck level for the 3 or so miles, arriving out of the sea like Ursula Andress 20,000 Leagues at Whitburn, scaring the shite out of a load of sunbathers

hahahahah.
I'd hate to live too far away from the coast. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in teh middle of America and live your whole life without seeing the sea.

:(
Do you swim in the sea often?

Not if there is a Japanese ship around

No.
I'm a shockingly bad swimmer. Never really learned, so I just sort of flounder a bit.
Also, if I go in the sea, people keep trying to refloat me.

See I'm about as far from the sea as you can get in England
so anytime I'm near the sea I have to go in, regardless of how cold it might be.
I bloody love swimming in the sea.

I like being *in* the water, as long as I feel safe.
But Weston doesn't actually have any sea. Lots of sand, but very little water. The sea is so far out most of the time that you'd get stuck in the mud well before you hit water.

My only memory of visiting Weston once as a child is getting stuck in mud.

Every single year without fail
some twat gets stuck and has to be rescued by teh lifeguard hovercraft.
