Working....and looking at flats on TEH INTERWEBZ

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:03, 1 reply, 12 years ago)
I need an answer about whether I shall be forced into rental because of this fucking IVA
if not, I rather like the look of some high rise action in Hackney. 2 beds, 'gritty realism' and loads of square footage for under 180k, if I realised my max price this would mean I could get a 60k mortgage

Mortagge approvals are up massively, they are opening up again
definately worth a try, with your sized "deposit"
(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:07, Reply)
yes but I cannot apply for - and will nto be given - a mortgage whilst I'm under this IVA
I won't be free from that til it's paid off. That won't be until my old flat is sold - so potentially I can't apply for a mortgage (still a question over whether I'd get one, or at least a reasonable one) until I'm out on DA STR33T5

I see, so short term renter might be the answer
however you may want an adult to look after your £120k till you are ready to buy a new flat

How do you mean rental?
Whether your mortgage lender will carry on with a mortgage loan after, you mean?
(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:07, Reply)
That's a definite no.
I was told a new property = a new mortgage, even if the rate and duration and payments stay the same.
(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:08, Reply)
Yes, that's right but you have a history with them is what we are really talking about.

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:10, Reply)
That's what I'm hoping, and am waiting for advice on

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:12, Reply)

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:12, Reply)
It's ok, I looked it up on the world wide web. They are small homes for Londoners, and poor people everywhere else.

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:12, Reply)
I believe they prefer the term "Formerly Local Authority"

(, Wed 21 Aug 2013, 15:16, Reply)
No such thing.
Once council, allus council. They were after all built for C.H.V.'s.
