Roughest areas of your town/city/commune?
I'm from Leeds and the following are no-go at the best of times:

Gipton
Halton Moor
Holbeck
Seacroft
Belle Isle
Beeston
Middleton
Harehills
Armley
Chapeltown
Little London
Burmantofts
Hawksworth (or, 't'Hawkeh', as the locals call it)
East End Park

Bramley has some pretty gnarly parts as well, especially the part close to Kirkstall. My ex lived round that part, not pleasant.

Also some areas with good reputations have some rough estates. Such as Cookridge, Farnley, Yeadon, Moortown, West Park, Wortley, Crossgates and Pudsey.

I live in York.
There are no high rises and even the worst areas, like Bell Farm, Clifton and Tang Hall are laughable when you compare them to proper rough bits of proper cities.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 13:25, Reply)
I know of Acomb
It's hard not to, it's where them purple bendy buses go isn't it?
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 13:29, Reply)
Acomb is huge and is about a quarter of the city.
Ranges from some very nice parts to some roughish parts.

Bell Farm is awful though.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 13:35, Reply)
well, I say 'huge'.
York is tiny.

All of that is my bread and butter except if we're working in Harehills - we only take the 05 Clio there because the better cars WILL get spotted and followed, then surrounded.
