BTW sporters, quick shop chat.
We were just looking at a RIM app to use your personal device to access work data. Turns out that by accepting to install and use the app, you give your company admins permission to remotely delete your personal data via a factory device reset.

I uninstalled it.

We had blackberries here for most of our remote users
They were monumentally shit. Who the fuck would choose to buy a blackberry over a smartphone?

I do like the idea of removing some cunts personal data though

I like the idea that BB isn't a smartphone

Its a Dumbfuckphone

BB's were the best out there
and then they tried to compete in the consumer market rather than the business one. If they had stayed with a business device they would have been the daddy.

we are upgrading shortly
got the choice between blackberry with qwerty, blackberry z10, Samsung galaxy and iphone 5.

I chose the galaxy, as I have an iphone for personal use. NO WAI was I having the same thing twice, nor just using 1 and risking drunken fuckwittage, or having work be able to wipe it all remotely if they chose to. anyway, the point was, lots of the older partners chose the blackberry because they like a real qwerty keyboard, not a touchscreen thing.

If it helps, RIM'll go the way of the doedoe soon.

RIM fucked up when they went onto the BIZ servers
As it means the devices can be remotely wiped without the users say so.

The "Wipe All Data" button is big and Fisherprice and right in between the "Wipe App Data" and "Unlock App" buttons.

The idea of it is good for a business data safety point of view

(, Thu 13 Feb 2014, 16:04, Reply)
Except it's an app specifically designed to allow access from personal mobiles.
