We were talking about him coming out years ago and he was so worried about it. When he plucked up the courage to say something in a pub down the quayside, we all just went "yer, we know" and went back to drinking again

Hah! Yeah people knew about me too.
My parents would ask me when we were unpacking shopping on a Saturday and I'd have the gayest hissy fit, thrice deny it and storm up to my room.

I didn't actually come out til 6th form when two mates did and I had back up!It wasn't as open as it is now. I think Queer as Folk was just on telly.
