Hey offtopic - Mrs V and I watched Bladerunner last night, and enjoyed it.
We also enjoyed the latest, post-Stallone version of Judge Dredd.

What sort of cyberpunkish films would you recommend we move onto next? Ones that look and sound really good, and hopefully have a decent plot too?
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:22, Reply)
New blade runner or old blade runner?
Both are excellent.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:23, Reply)
there's a new one?

(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:24, Reply)
No, there's not.
I had a brain fart. It's total recall they remade
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:29, Reply)
And the new one is utter shit, with the exception of Kate Beckinsale who makes my winkle feel funny

(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:36, Reply)
I liked it.
So there.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:38, Reply)
But you've seen the original?
The original is a classic but the new one is just a line-by-line ripoff with some CGI and shit acting.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:41, Reply)
The original is fantastic yeah.
I didn't think the acting in the new one was so bad, and some of the cinematography was spot on
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:46, Reply)
i'm gonna put my hand up here and admit that I don't really know what cinematography is

(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:47, Reply)

Showing your age there, it's nearly as old as you.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2014, 9:46, Reply)
You're shit.
It's a beautiful film - it looks absolutely marvellous, and the soundtrack is jolly good, too.

My friend thinks it's boring, but I don't.

I now want more.

Off the top of my head
I'd recommend Hardware, Accion Mutante and Class of 1999. Not all necessarily 'cyberpunk' but worth watching. Hardware is probably the cyberpunkyish of that lot and if you like that I'd recommend Dust Devil by the same director.

A few years ago there was some campaign to make people take off their hats and motorcycle helmets in shops for 'security reasons'
The slogan was 'Hats off to crime!', which didn't sound quite right to me.
