I've been booking trains for London on the internet and it's taken me 1.1/2 hours to decide which train times to pick and the bloody National Express website kept crashing.

Have you made up with Mrs BK yet?

Were they all popular culture questions? Not that I'm casting aspersions on your intellect.

Edit - @Halfy - Every guy who comes in the gym who uses the weights is around 5ft or under. I've yet to see a beefcake over 5ft apart from the gym instructor.

Well becky, as you asked...
It's not going so well, I had a superpants weekend as I still don't have a job so made the decision that if I don't get an interview offer by Friday I shall stay with my parents until after Christmas and work here to earn some money. It's just not financially possible to wait any longer for offers in London.

Therefore, (am I among friends? Good)
I haven't had a poo since friday. :S

Stress makes me not poo. I am stressed.
therefore, no poo.

However my mum has bet me a tenner I won't poo within 2 hours of eating 2 Weetabix. She has until 10.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:03, Reply)
BGB
Nope! One was Shakespeare related, one to do with art, one to do with Latin and I forget the others.
My mum was dead impressed.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:04, Reply)
@BGB
Err, she ended it about 20 minutes ago.
My fault, and my crazy, stupid brain. I'm ok though. I think.

I'm sorry to hear that my love. I know I can't help you feel better but we are all sending hugs.

It's ok, I just pooed!
Just call it miraclebix.
Edit - BGB - if I'd had any I would have! Always has the same effect on me :)

Yeah!
I'm overdosing on tea, Johnny Cash, and Jeff Buckley. It was only 2 months, and what my confidence needed. Some people have got real problems so I don't want to slide into self-pity cos that just ain't attractive.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:09, Reply)
show's over folks
I'm off.

Back tomorrow. I hope.

*snogs*
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:09, Reply)
@BK
Just because other people have it worse doesn't mean you can't splurge in self pity for a little while.... then you dust yourself off and start all over again.

Have you thought about counselling for your jealousy issues? If it's an ongoing problem then it might help for future relationships.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:12, Reply)
BK
You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself as long as you know you're doing it.
Then, as BGB said, you pick yourself up, and smile. It'll be a fake smile at first but slowly it'll get more and more real.

:)
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:18, Reply)
@BGB
Yeah, I'm looking into it.
It's not really a jealousy issue, it's more severe mood swings. Was on a real downer all day and then got drunk. Never a good idea.

@tulip
Later hun!
*smooch*

*edit* @ Lucy
I don't feel too bad. I haven't dissolved, I don't feel anything but good things towards her. But thanks everyone; you're all lovely and I want to meet you all soon.

@BK
Oh! sorry, I got the wrong end of the stick.

You need to get it sorted love. You seem like a good guy and you don't want this character flaw to stop you from having a happy life with someone.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:24, Reply)
Yay for not dissolving
It would be nice if we had a chain of b3tan pubs. Somewhere where you could go where you would be guaranteed a nice person to talk to and have a giggle with.

If I win the lottery or receive funding, I would like to set this up!
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:26, Reply)
Aww shit
I'm sorry Lucy and BK. *hugs*

Lucy, we have a room going in my flat hella cheap all bills inc if that helps? It's a bit of a hole of a flat, but depends on desperation and wanting to stay in London.

BK, time is a good thing. It's fucking shit at first, but gets easier.

No great uplifting news at my end either I'm afraid, dad's definitely got lung cancer and it's on his lymph nodes as well, so no chance of surgery to get rid of it and they're not sure if his lack of mobility on Friday/Saturday is due to a stroke or too much of the heart meds, so he's on the high priority list for an MRI as they can't start chemo until they know for definite if it's a brain bleed.
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 21:28, Reply)
oh bex
*hugs*

I don't really know what to say to that apart from if you need someone to talk to then I'm always around.

for my part, we had a dude come round to do a bit of a kitchen design and give us a quote.

turned out he was from the double glazing school of salesmanship and if we hadn't booted the fucker out an hour ago he'd still be here and going strong

nice kitchen though, and a good price, but we are only speculating at the moment, and will be doing so for 5 years or so....

hi!
A b3ta pub would be ace!

I'm chilling in a London guest house, watching QI repeats on Dave, slowly supping Syrohgbow after a long day of hanging around in court. I have a day off tomorrow, so might go around the V&A and the Natural History Museum tomorrow, before I head back to uncivilised Warwickshire

Edit: BK, sorry to hear about what happened, I hope things become awesome for you soon!

2nd edit: Becks, I don't know you, but you have my deepest sympathies.

Warwickshire does indeed rock, but I've noticed some Londoners don't like their city being regarded as anything less than idyllic. A barrister today said "You don't work in the city? People still do that?"

Good evening good b3tafolks
In case you missed it, I got a job-offer today. The e-mail I got is a bit 'off the record' and more of a heads-up than anything, and they still need to do some formal discussions, but it looks very promising.

@BK & beckx:
Sorry to hear about your respective tradgedies.

He's ok looking
Although I did comment he looked slightly like an axe murderer... and he can be interesting sometimes but not really doing it for me.

Think I'm better off in Rainy ole Leamington! ;)

Are you speaking from experience there Vipros? Or am I supposed to get some crazy hint to "So I Married an Axe Murderer"?
(, Mon 8 Sep 2008, 22:06, Reply)

The safest thing would be to let him visit you first. If he can't see that then I'd be worried. Or maybe he's just naive.

meeting them in groups is ok
it seems unlikely that they would have grouped together for one measly little axe-murdering

I met 4 at once and I didn't get murdered, so you will probably be fine.

As a committed scientist, sorry, atheist I'm expecting to burst into flames the minute I walk in but it's a big-ass RC place on the Brompton Road in W London.

If some priest starts talking to me about the evils of condoms and the like I may launch into one of my rants on the shiteness of organised religion (i.e., massive con; Priest:"what about faith?" Me:"You say faith, I say Nuremburg"; where's the proof?) and kiddy fiddling on the part of RC priests. And Nazi gold. And. And. And...

The last church I went into was for a friend's wedding. It wasn't a great church, plus the bride was a harpy who stole my friend, so I didn't enjoy it much. The 'church' before that was St Peter's. Bit of difference.

Hmmm.

Yes, organised religion is a more banal form of evil, rather than something as actively evil as political correctness.

Church weddings are the
most boring things ever. One I went to went of for THREE hours!! Three hours sat in a horrible blancmange dress (as I was a bridesmaid) cursing the fact I couldn't smoke.

Best wedding was my cousins as it was in a hotel and a lot of Hell's Angels turned up for the reception and bought me drinks as I play with old cars :) Score another for the Marinas :)

Night folks
I'm plum tuckered.

Everyone have lovely dreams of kittum-stocked B3ta pubs, filled with lashings of cider, cake, and smoking areas. F1 on the screens and Vipros, K2k6'a and Kaol's tunes on the jukie!

It's a small dream, a simple dream, but a good dream.
