I think miliband grossly misjudged feeling in England about the snp
Clegg knackered himself with the tuition fees. People seem to forgive lies and broken promises even less easily than harsh policies. Sadly for some of the better lib dem candidates he knackered them too.

I think Cameron perfectly judged feeling in Scotland about his words.
All that scaremongering about the SNP will have triggered most Scotcher's instinct to do the opposite of what he says.

The UKIP votes are a story the politicians need to listen to now as well
There is no way all those people are racist thugs even if a lot of them are. What it does show is that people aren't happy. And uberprick farage at least got people talking where there is usually so much apathy. Clearly people want to see a different kind of politics so FFS learn that lesson now before we end up with them actually getting significant seats the next time round. Shudder.
