And not in a good way.

They're ok raw, but take on the texture of slugs when cooked. This is bad because it makes me have flashbacks to eating slugs.

I was small.
Next door's pet duck loved them, so while gathering some to feed to it I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

At least this is what I assume happened, I can't actually remember. Thankfully my parents take the opportunity to remind me of it whenever the opportunity arises.

I suspect that my need to over-salt everything I eat has developed purely to turn any slugs I might consider devouring into even more unpleasant fizzing goo.
Although I've never actually salted a slug, so I'm not sure if this is an accurate description of the outcome.
