No crisps because
I was planning on being home for dinner. But we're starting on our sixth and frankly, Wookiee is getting to the 'interesting revelations' stage. I shall forsake crisps and indeed all notions of solid food for dinner and persevere here :)

Sorry, that was just pathetic. I will try harder, I promise.

Edit: Hello, Mrs L. A fine example I may say, of why 'tis better to be a parent than a teacher. We can slap the little feckers if they go too far. Or far, far, worse, confiscate their mobile phones ...

Not been around much lately so I thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Just when I thought I was settling in, the overwhelmedness is back with a vengeance!

In the days before the new year, I came down with the flu. It was one of those diseases where it was coming out both ends. I learned that hot waterbottles and puking stomachs don't go together, as the heat from the hot water bottle expands the contents of the stomach. So I ended up having to move my hot water bottle around a lot. This lead to a feverish dream where I was in some specially designed bunk-bed that could cope with me moving around to avoid overheating. Somehow, this bunk-bed included a physical manifestation of a HSH-thread (there were even a few b3tans around). And don't ask why I didn't just get rid of the hot water bottle in the first place - it was cold! This meant I didn't have time to do all the things I wanted to do at my parent's place, so tried to get most of them done before I returned to London.

Once back, I heard that my boss at work was resigning and I was to take over all his projects (it was just me and him on the team), which gave me even more to think about. This means I'm now the only one in my department (there is a third person but he works outside the office and only comes down twice a year and according to my boss, he never really got the feeling he was working with him) so I'm now the only one of my kind in the office. How will this work out ... it remains to be seen. I also learned that the project I had been working on for the past 3 months was my boss's pet project. He had started it on his own initiative, but nobody else seemed interested, so it looks like my work-project is being canned - this just a week before my 3-month appraisal. And also just when I learned that my boss was in fact Russian, and not French.

That and e-mailing my friends and playing with my shiny new gadgets has taken it's toll on my b3tatime (I'm in the middle of a slow-motion gadget-buying spree).

Have there been any interesting developments in b3taland lately?

(, Mon 12 Jan 2009, 21:02, Reply)
oooh, this was a brief visit
but the PC is now required for homework purposes, so I'll love you and leave you.

Open wide and I'll squirt some beer through your monitor.

EDIT: I can't remember. All I know was that we were working as a team trying to get this bed/HSH thread working, and beckyjsbx was the project-manager. Can't remember who the others were.

The HSH/bunk-bed was a complicated bunk-bed with multiple beds - not just stacked on top of eachother, but on the sides. The heights of the beds varied according to their position. We just need to build such a bed and organise a bash when it's built. Although I think it can only accommodate one feverish person at a time.

EDIT: 'ning PSAP - see a few posts above.
