To Norton, or not to Norton?
Hey you young hip things - my Norton subscription is about to end. What's your tip for the best anti-virus type software out there?

I run AVG
as mictoboy says, it's free and not shit. I've also heard good things about Antivir.

AVG.
Never Norton or McAffee.... bloating wastes of space they both are.

Don't buy a mac. It's like Norton - an overhyped waste of money when you can get something just as good for much less cash.

Another vote for AVG:
free.grisoft.com

Either that or Avast:
www.avast.com/eng/download.html

I use Avast at the moment as AVG isn't free for 64 bit windows.

As for Norton and McAfee both have very good corporate editions but the consumer editions ae shit and should be avoided at all costs.

AVG
Kaspersky
NOD32 (Not free but very good)
Avast

First one..
For Avira AntiVir - I think it's pretty good - use Opera!

Avast
AVG used to be good, and now isn't so much.

Avast is what you want.

I've found...
That while AVG has it's uses, it's pretty much fuck all use while downloading anything (in my experience).

I've got to go with NOD32, I installed it recently and it immediately sniffed out hundreds of problems, before blocking the conficker worm around 100 times in an hour.

I use AVG,
Not had any problems at all with it.

Avast!
As an information security professional, I use and recommend Avast.

That is all.

[edit] oh, either way, fuck paying Norton for their resource-hogging bloatware
