So what do you lot think, is it appropriate to go to interviews wearing a black shirt, or should it be white?

I'm tending towards white.

I only ask since I do not own a white shirt!

I'd say go with a white one.
Make sure you don't wear a black tie with it though, or it'll be rather too funereal.

Depends wholly on suit colour
and nature of interviews.

Grey suit, black shirt open-necked - yes, if appropriate to be tieless at interview.

Black SS outfit, black shirt, black tie - definitely yes, no exceptions.
