Right,
It's Friday. Monday is a bank holiday. Three days off for most of us.
What're you fuckers up to?

If the answer is "going shopping" I don't care.

Seeing my beautiful daughter tomorrow
Then off to Gran Canaria for a week of reading and relaxation - paid for in full by my girlfriend who I'm on the verge of splitting up with.

Wish me luck....
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:18, Reply)
Er...
Good luck there. Make the most of it I guess!

*dead arm*

I'll try and write over the weekend.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:19, Reply)
Mixed feelings about the hols?
Good luck indeed.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:27, Reply)
cheers folks
It's a make or break job - with her stroppy, spoilt 15 year old son thrown into the mix for added tension....

Combined with the fact that I'm a cultural holiday kind of fellow as opposed to a beach mong, it's going to be a looooong week....
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:36, Reply)
Actually I get 4 days off...
And have decided to take the rest of the week as well...

Probably will be painting the porch and on Thursday going to see a local band who are rather good :)
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:19, Reply)
The Queen!
God bless Her and all who sail in her!

Le Weekend
My weekend is fully planned, with:

- diabetes measurement work (neural network to give to the NHS)

- detail research proposal for MRes (Bayesian model to predict device placement)

- fraud scorecard research for a friend

- Monaco GP (qualifying and race - always good for some entertaining action (read: accidents))

- dog walking at Greenwich Park with Millie

...and *not* shopping!

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow,
then I'm having a fancy dress party for my birthday on sunday

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow too...
Before I start bitching about it, is the wedding you're going to in Essex? Just in case you're the groom's brother or something...
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:25, Reply)
nope
it's in Bletchley,
it shall be fun the groom's American from Fargo and half his family have never flown before
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:26, Reply)
Ah, that's fine then.
What's the theme for your birthday do then?
Or just general fancy dress?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:30, Reply)
Has to begin with the letter R

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:45, Reply)

Well, have fun!
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:20, Reply)

Gawd help us!
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:31, Reply)

We can play that game if you want.
I was tempted to put "People crying about their cats being ill" too.
Why is it the last two weeks, every damn cat owned by a b3tan seems to be dying.
Ignore my sig, obviously.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:27, Reply)
Watch your ass...
...do not ask any more questions about the cats. Let it go.

You don't know what you are getting yourself into.

I am
going shopping tomorrow and you will care! The Sunday is F1/spraying my car/replacing the engine and Monday is either more of the same or just me crying as everything I did Sunday fails.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:27, Reply)
What, F1 = fail?
wuh?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:31, Reply)
The F1
will be brilliant this weekend. Can't wait to see how Brawn and Renault do on the corners.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:34, Reply)
Agreed
I also saw that Rosberg was fastest in first practice yesterday, quite a surprise.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:37, Reply)
Oh obviously not the F1 fail.
just the car stuff. *rolls eyes and huffs*

I sooooooo want Vettel to win. I hear red bull have put the double diffuser on for this race though so hopefully that will give them a bit more speed. Their tactics were massively flawed in Spain though
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:40, Reply)
TGB loves Vettel, TGB loves Vettel ...
the double diffuser should be good for the race - especially when straight line speed is so not the order of the day in Monaco.

i think monaco is my favourite GP in the entire season; that, or Spa.

Hmm.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:42, Reply)
I do love him
even though his giant ear scares me.

I love him a lot more than Button that's for sure. Button and his stupid button tattoo
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:44, Reply)
Or his strangely
non-growth beard? what the heck is that about?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:46, Reply)
I hope that diffuser
won't compromise the car in any way; seems like a bit of a knee jerk to get the pace up to Brawn.

Having said that, if they do get it right, it'll be a corker :D
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:21, Reply)
Agreed
the ability to get up with Brawn is excellent; having seen Ross Brawns' face when he was with Ferrari (not smiling much, despite having M. Schumacher as a driver) vs Ross Brawns' face when he's got his own team (albeit the Honda team in all but name) = grinning like the Cheshire Cat...YES!

And as for Ferrari now? Go fcuk yourselves.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:24, Reply)
I think it was the fact
that (probably) at Ferrari they didn't give him free reign with the car, and now that he has his own team, he can do whatever he wants! Obviously resulting in a great car.

Mind you, if he had been able to tinker when Schumacher was driving can you imagine how even more one sided it would have been?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:27, Reply)
College work.
Lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of college work.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:30, Reply)
Alcoholiday weekend!
Getting very wobbly, playing some fine music, taking the kids into the countryside and watching fat Geordies cry on MOTD.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:31, Reply)
I'm going to a wedding on Saturday.
It's gonna suck, because most of my family hate each other, and there'll be free alcohol.
It's gonna be like a slightly posher, much drunker version of Eastenders.
I'm willing to bet that I'll either get very, very drunk, or end up insulting people, a lot. Or both.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:39, Reply)
Going huntin' for wabbits this evening
Tomorrow I have the intention of, weather permitting, going for a 30 mile ride.
Sunday I'll likely see the 'rents, then chill at a friend's house.
Monday I shall play computer games while in my dressing gown.

Where do you do it?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:21, Reply)
My friend's rather pally with some farmers near Alderminster
I don't own an air rifle, but he's got a couple of Webleys (90% sure that's right).

Safari Supper tonight
different course at different people's houses. I get lumbered with the main, so I'm making an enormous steak and ale pie.

Tomorrow I'm off to north devon for camping, drinking, smoking and surfing with my two brothers and their concubines.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:41, Reply)
Ah yes,
I neglected to mention, I've got the whole of next week off, so I'm not gonna be here, sorry.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:42, Reply)
Long weekend?
Lucky fuckers. No such thing here (though our holidays occur on the date, rather than a set day of the week, meaning occasional mid-week breaks - but also weekend holidays with no bloody supermarkets open).

Anyways - tomorrow, I will be possibly shopping for some new work-type shoes (trainer-type anyway).

Then Sunday, I will be raping the manual search on my new digital box to find a channel delivering both the last day of the Scottish Premier (go Celtic/Dundee United), and then the same for the EPL (go Newcastle) - depending on how things go, Monday will either see my students being introduced to the delights of Irn-Bru, or a stinking depressed hungover teacher.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 9:43, Reply)
Bank Holiday?
I don't do bank holidays. I'll be at work as usual.

But then I save up all these days and bugger off for weeks in the summer.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:05, Reply)
I'm off to a May Ball this evening
at the rugby club so it'll be lots of large ugly drunks, and rather a lot of blokes too.
*Badum tish!*

Then tomorrow I'm off to see Star Trek with the man and the kids - belated birthday treat for me. Then tomorrow evening I'm being taken out for a meal...apparently. I say apparently because as far as I'm aware no arrangements for this event have taken place.

On Sunday I'll be nursing a hangover.

Monday....I've no idea.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:10, Reply)
Watching films and taking lots of drugs with my friend tomorrow
then monging contentedly on Sunday
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 10:36, Reply)
"monging on Sunday"?
Shagging the disabled again are we dear?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 12:24, Reply)
Hopefully a 40 mile bike ride
training for London-Brighton again this year. And playing Bioshock. Lots and lots of Bioshock. And listening to the George Smillie stuff on R4.
