Just was on msn.com, and saw "Top 10 'Jump Out Of Your Seat' Moments, and thought I'd give it a look.
What a load of shite.

Opinions (of the ones I've seen)
Deep Blue Sea - Poor poor film, why not Jaws?
The Descent - Shite film
Se7en - I'll admit, that bit shit me up
Carrie - Maybe scary when it came out, but I expected it to happen.
The omen - What? How will that make you jump?
Final Destination - One of the funniest things I've ever seen in Cinema.
How about some alternative suggestions?

Well worth a watch though.

was the knife-in-the-mouth bit, and the consequent...erm, "first aid".
I don't like the torture and "if you are able to count to 3, we will let you go!". Because it frustrates me.

btw, these are simply moments that made me jump, not necessarily scared me
The Grudge - Where the kid appears in the window
Jaws - Where the head floats out of the ship
Hmmm, this is difficult, I can't think of many others...

...that bit where the head floats up in Jaws is scary! I don't like it when the guy gets attacked in the lake and his leg sinks to the bottom when it gets bitten off... grim!

Is it that the head falling out of the boat bit in jaws makes everybody jump.
I first saw it when it came out in the cinema, and it still makes me jump to this day!

The final scene in Candyman.
Shit me up, but also turned a good film into a great one!

one of the biggest wastes of time and money I've ever experienced

I mean. WTF? How is someone (with poor acting skills) running around with a handycam in a dark wood scary?
(, Thu 28 May 2009, 12:03, Reply)
...it is because the actors keep saying 'ohmigidimsofuckingscared' every two minutes.
Utter shit.

Event Horizon - The video in it from the previous group.
Scared me when I was younger, now just seems tame.

Aliens: When they all start creeping out of the walls.
House of 1000 Corpses: the long frame where the bloke gets shot in the head
Halloween (the remake): All the bits with the young lad - fookin ace!
28 Days later: Fuckin Zombies.......running.......really fast!!!
28 weeks later: Robert Carlyle getting infected
Dr Who: Blink.......not a film but pretty damn scary

Alien - the first one - the moment when the first officer turns on Sigourney Weaver and they find out that he was an android all along. I think that actually sent more a shiver down the spine than the scene at the end when the alien's in the escape pod with her...
And yes, Blink was a fucking awesome episode of Dr Who.

...if the soundtrack is good it creates so much suspense you don't really need anything scary to even happen, its the build up thats scary!!
God I love horror films! I'm very excited about the re-make of Last House on the Left! :)
