I am reinstalling a G3 iMac (400MHz, 384MB RAM)
It can run Tiger, but would it be better off with Panther for speed/responsiveness because of the spec?

The thing is, the G3 iMacs used the Syion processors.
So their multihyperthreading capabilitys can't optimise Panther for optimum performance.

Considering that
A G4 1.42GHz 1GB sucks at running either version I'd recommend getting a proper computer not a Fischer Price 'I Can't Handle A Proper Computer'

For bonus points, look down at your hands, can you tell left from right? If so then you've outgrown a Mac!
