my reservoirs of cool are so deep that a pair of trainers, no matter how silly, can't diminish them.
in fact, by wearing those trainers it means that they become cool ;-)
disclaimer: I neither think, nor care if, I am cool. although someone did literally just ask if I wanted a drink and I said "naa, I'm cool"

Simply for the reason that I'm fairly sure you can get them from a Vans shop for cheaper.
(I too have a pair of Iron Maiden trainers, which were about 25 quid I think, from the Vans Shop).
