Do you prefer OT now or how it was when it started?

just cos it's on your forehead doesn't *make* you a dick.

we'll get you insulting to a competent level within a few years

You don't do the smilie face thing, unless there is a smilie face that quite demonstrates the spittle of rage spewing forth from your face.
Just call him the complete and utter NHS Middle Management he is, suggest that he puts foward an initiative on all NHS Litratire to include a "Having trouble reading this with your bad eyesight, just ask a nurse to read it out for you." logo, and be done with it.

oh. you *want* me to be mean.
But it's not very nice being mean.

Everybody lies.
He lied about not having sex with that squirrel.

I personally like it a lot more because there are more interesting, diverse subjects discussed.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:12, Reply)
but I do like the wide range of topics. I'm just worried about it turning into another /talk - it has been nasty on occasion here of late.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:15, Reply)
It's not like /talk here - I like both places.
BTW, you got a gaz about it? Really?
*sighs*

I wont reveal who the person was who sent it, but I was curious to find out what everyone else thinks seeing as we're here pretty much every day.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:25, Reply)
you're here.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:26, Reply)
but wouldn't account for why I'm here
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:30, Reply)
I care not.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:40, Reply)
It's more interesting and varied now - the fluff was getting a tad repetitive. The only reason I don't wander into /talk is it moves too fast for me.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:27, Reply)
I like some of it, not too keen on other bits. Read the bits I like. Don't read the bits I don't.

Right, I'm off to see my chiropractor now. When I get back I'll be 5'2".
Now someone can call me short-arse.

but a very lovely one with a sexy one

I've never quite understood why there isn't room for fluff n kittums and spikiness, vitriol and abuse. I mean, I'm all live and let live but it pisses me off royally when people tell other people what to do. Nobody owns OT, nobody has the right to say how it should be. I haven't felt like I'm actually allowed to be me here any more, and that's a shame because that's what made OT the great place I used to think it was. Everyone just posted whatever the hell they wanted. If you wanted to read it you did, if you didn't - you didn't. None of this b3ta fascism I tells ya. It's oppressive now. For some of us, anyway.
Meh. Yeah I find it all a tad depressing that the one place I really thought had room for everyone turned out not to... but fuck it. Obviously I'm in a minority, but there ya go... that's what I think. I'm not here much any more anyway, so carry on as you were.

But I quite like it now, it has the right pace for me, the threaded replies mean there arn't a ton of stupid @ messages, and the main-thread-summery OT page means there can be sevral subjects going on at once.
Plus I'm here now.

I'm well pleased you liked it, there is nothing quite like someone liking something you've made.
It's the extra half a pint of TLC that made it taste so good.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:45, Reply)
But not as much as /talk. I suspect it's less the death of HSH and more the increasing number of /talkers.
Enough new stuff to stay interesting, not so much that it overwhelms.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:41, Reply)
Also, the fluff is pretty shit. Better without it. I was pleased to find out that Off Topic people aren't fluffy in real life. In fact, I was aggressively threatened by serveral of them. Good work!
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:42, Reply)
by asking why you weren't wearing the Mo up. Remind me about that again I think I only heard the story a gazillion times
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:52, Reply)
oh yeah, I am. And I'll probably post about it on QOTW if we ever get a decent topic again.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:54, Reply)
This has made me think again.
Originally OT seemed to be true offshoot from QOTW. Some rambling stuff, some short and sweet, mainly from the usual suspects. Then we got the fluff outbreak with lots of HSH which ran it's course and resulted in the subsequent festival of cuntery and general insult.
OT has now settled into a rather convivial amalgam of all three. I like it. An excess of Fluff and Cuntery can get rather trying rather quickly.
I'm quite enjoying what Becky has done with the place.

It's your responsibility to arrange for cover in your absence. It's in your cuntract.
(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:52, Reply)
I'm glad to see the back of HSH though. Mainly because while at work I can't constantly check the thread. So I'd say something, go back to work for 5 minutes, come back and there would be 114 other replies burying my wit and banter.
And the fluff can fuck off and die
