Clean? No.
Time to build some nuclear plants anyway. They should spend money explaining to the public how they actually work so they're not shit-scared of them.

IIRC the UK spends more money on mobile phone ringtones than nuclear fusion research...

You just said it yourself.
No powerplant is totally clean.
Which is why "clean coal" is such a retarded statement.

Clean coal power stations -v- not clean coal power stations.
Clean coal power stations are real, clean and our best option for cutting down on carbon emissions at the national grid level right now.

But the majority of people wont understand that. They'll here "clean" and think it must be ok and have no drawbacks at all.

It's a good thing the decisions will be made by intelligent people, after the next general election, at least.

Clairvoyance, nice.
So instead of trying to make sure people understand properly you'd delibertately ignore the ability of your audience to comprehend what you're saying. Great fucking lot of good you'd be.

they always want to know stuff, WHY CANT THEY JUST DO WHAT I SAY! The country would be so much better if all those fucking whiners just accepted everything that was told to them by those lovely government types.

That sounds like witchcraft.
Fuck the fact that Africa will die, can't have this new fangled clean coal.
This is what you sound like to me, you awful penis.

running out of fossil fuels and therefore energy is the more demanding concern I would've thought, and nuclear fission in the short-term and fusion in the long are the most sensible answers to this.
particularly given how our delightfully abundant source of tidal energy is for all intents and purposes overlooked.

but there are ways of producing electricity that are orders of magnitude more environmentally friendly than others.
The fact is we are going to get lumbered with coal power stations, which have a life of say 50 years, due to pretending there wasn't a problem with our power generation for decades until at the last minute we don't actually have a choice but to plump for something we've done before.
Just because it's easy to build, doesn't make it the best choice.
