I know many people think it's a pile of donkey poo and in fact, so did I until I really gave a try properly by reposting people's links and so on.
Anyway, I've just been 'followed' (like the Friends and Fans thing on here) by Hans van der Klink (Dirrty Hans) whose bio says
"I make the groovy dvd. With the happy finish & the plumber "
I can die happy now.
EDIT
If you're on Twitter who is your favourite follower or to follow.
If not why have you decided against doing the whole Twitter thing?

I'm not a Twitterer because I can't really see the point. I'm still in the 'donkey poo' camp!
As for the Dirty Hans thing - I don't understand any of it. Went right over my head, that did. Must be a television or film thing, I guess.

I followed it for a few days but now I can't really be bothered.

I can't see the point of it... like I can't see much of a point to Facebook, Myspace or half of the other Web 2.0 "tools"

but don't need an excuse to spend even more time pissing about on the internet than I already do.

I'm spending more and more time with 'my finger on the pulse' [read f5] because I want to know what's happening - and if you're following some reasonable Tweeters (Twits?) then you do get to know what's happening almost immediately.
It's addictive.
And competitive - more and more followers....better (Celebrity) followers...more replies/retweets/mentions.
It's almost as good as a double strength mocha with an extra shot of expresso.
*twitches*

as I've been well and truely hooked on irc, msn, MUD and other stuff in the past. So I'm steering clear.

an occasional user until I checked out Hugh Laurie's page...he follows about six people and one of them a certain Mrs Stephen Fry - not SF himself, but Mrs - the apparent wife and mother of his six children. I looked at MSF and discovered some rather amusing posts...clicked Follow and before I knew it 'she' was following me....and now I'm hooked - s/he's very, very funny. Then I found Samuel Johnson and Sir Joshua Reynolds (yes, I know they're both long dead) and now I'm up to 143 followers.
Hooked.

Built-in browsers are pretty crap.
Just go to www.operamini.com on your phone and download it.

mini.opera.com/
It beats the hell out of most built-in phone browsers. I use it for b3ta all day.
Edit: what he said.

I'll give it a go.
But only because you guys on b3ta said so.

Once you get speed dials and all the shortcuts sorted, you'll love it even more :)

I read a science fiction story set in the future where everyone lives alone and only communicates through computers. Even family members are not in physical contact with each other and only see each other via the screen. One family decides to meet up and ends up violently killing each other.
You do realise this is where we are heading.

and I couldn't see the point, until I saw my brother playing with his Tweet Deck. Then I realised the true potential of it in a big epiphany type moment. Having a Tweet Deck connects you to the entire interweb and shows you bits of it knows you want to see. Or something like that. I was impressed, anyway.
