I'm playing a gig this afternoon
with these people
www.myspace.com/thegiraffodils

I need a second opinion. Are they as bad as I think they are?

There's potential there
but it's a shit recording and a bit of a shit song.

Good god
YES.

Over the three songs, i managed less than a minute. Horrible voice, horrible.

Have fun

I've heard worse but let's face it they can only make you sound better.

You'd better hope you're on first
so the stage won't be covered in piss and broken glass.

The guitarest and keyboardist are competing for the musical equivilent of attention.

They both have almost identical chord progressions to the chorus
of "Drift Away" by Dobie Gray.

Not so good...
The intro to the first song had me thinking, "Meh... not my thing, but they seem competent enough in a bland, wedding-party, magnolia paint, Brand New Heavies sort of way..."; and then there was the singing and keyboard.

I'm not syringing my ears.

Bad.
Agreed by me and the porkette. Sounded acceptable until the vocals started. And then the "harmony". *shudders*
