I decided to start introducing more fruit into my diet - a girl can’t live on sweets and steak alone (believe me, I’ve been doing it for too long and its made me peculiar). The fruit craze lasted for about a day when I realised I only like eating apples so I’m now on a smoothie mission to get somewhere near my five a day. I’m drinking those Innocent smoothies and although they’re chunky and weird I am feeling a bit better for drinking them.
Have you tried anything new recently in an attempt to make you feel better?

because they all have fucking banana in them, and that revolts me.
Cheap frozen fruit, OJ, yoghurt and a blender are what you want.
I've taken to drinking green tea. Partly because it tastes good, but mostly because it's supposed to be really good for you

I could do that when I’m at home as somewhere in the cupboard I do have a blender… but at work I can’t be arsed, I just want the ‘cheat option’. You are right though, the one I’m drinking at the moment is strawberry and banana… its full of bits! :S

I'm trying to eat more fruit too. I'm not a fan of the texture of most fruit though, so I just eat loads of veg instead.
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:24, Reply)
My issue is that I don’t like the texture of fruit and veg is grim, so I’m sort of screwed. I can only eat carrots and the occasional broccoli and rocket. Balls.
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:27, Reply)
if you can manage broccoli then I'm sure you should be able to eat most stuff.
I've found that steaming veg makes it much tastier. that or roasting it.
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:28, Reply)
See I prefer my veg crispy and less buggered to death in a pan... its probably because I'm shit at cooking it!! :(
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:29, Reply)
use a steamer then. not for things like courgette, that would ming, but carrots, broccoli, cabbage, all that sort of stuff should be steamed for extra tastiness.
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:36, Reply)
Maybe I should invest in a steamer then... god I hate feeling like a grown up... steamer shopping! :(
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:43, Reply)
but then I love cooking
made thai chicken cakes, with stir-fried veg and egg fried rice last night. mmmmmm

Last weekend I dangled 130 feet off the side of a building to help raise money for The Stroke Association.
We raised nearly £1500 all told AND I didn't soil myself either.
I trust Mr DiT's hangover wasn't oo severe?
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:21, Reply)
I don’t think I could have done it, heights are for tall people! DiT was hungover for most of Sunday, we had bacon and I think he’s okay now! :)

But I blame myself for having two more beers when I got home.

it's full of acids which erode your teeth, the five-a-day campaign was aimed at poor people who were too stupid to eat anything even remotely healthy, if you're healthy you needn't bother, but you could cut down on the sugary stuff.
This is almost exactly what my dentist told me, so I'm sticking to sweets and beef.
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 14:30, Reply)
see I am pretty active but that’s not the same thing as being healthy. I eat bad food but make up for it with running, jumping, climbing trees etc. Bad food makes your skin naff though so that’s the main thing I am trying to sort out… I won’t give up the beef and sweets entirely! Haha

Good god...I never thought I'd end up discussing citrus fruits on b3ta.
Strange, strange place.

I had to spit it out.

Got an exercise plan and some nutrition guidelines off a trainer. I'm going three times a week and the only real difference I've noticed is that I can now do the whole exercise plan without cheating or passing out or throwing up.

However, with me being a West Country lad, I can assure you that liquid apples are the way forward.
Get yourself some good qualty cloudy cider and you'll be able to enjoy both steak and apples in a glass (a lot of farmer will throw meat in with the apples to help the furmentation process, there was a farm on the A38 that once advertised 'cider - not suitable for vegetarians).
Cider.
