I've had a superb weekend, for a fucking change.
How was yours?

I still managed to do quite well at Triv. Saturday was spent recovering and yesterday was housework and making ten Fimo Nessies for christmas presents.
Edit: what was so great about your weekend?

Her mother was nice to me throughout, fed me lovely homecooked Vietnamese hot & sour soup and didn't torment me by text when I wasn't there.
I smoked some DMT on Friday night and have felt serene and focussed ever since - but the 'family time' I've had has been utterly wonderful and is the principal reason for my good spirits.

nothing like a psychedelic brain rinse to put things into perspective. Like an emotional/psychological soft reset.

It was like some kind of exquisitely decorated beautiful beacon radiating warm light beams. Sounds a bit silly now but at the time it was a quasi-religous experience.

It looks like brown sugar and you smoke it on a bed of ash in a pipe.
It's like taking a stupendously large dose of LSD but only lasts a few minutes at its peak and doesn't have much in the way of after effects.

were underwhelming to say the least but an unnamed expert colleague on here tells me I didn't really have the real deal - based upon his testimony I'm going to say 'yes'.

It's windswept up here and although i never done anything of note, I got loads of sleep and didn't spend a penny, but still got boozed up and stoned from 4pm yesterday. Which was nice.

It involved pizza, wine, old friends and a puppy but not all at the same time.

I was hoping to be able to taunt your religeous ways till you cried like a baby.

My weekend was boring. I watched that Requiem For a Dream and fannied about the house doing very little. I also failed in buying a second hand rowing machine so might just have to pop to Argos and splash out the 50 quid or so.
5 weekends on the trot now without booze, that is a fucking record, not that I'm feeling particularly healthy to show for it..

Not sure how to spend the wealth though, especially with Chrimbo around the corner...

and was relieved to feel not one bit better, so I went 'retox' and have stayed there ever since.
I applaud your strength of character and willpower though. That alone must feel pretty darned dood?

You always feel worse for a while before you feel better when giving up bad shit.

that something of a foggy shroud around your feelings is protective. Facing the reality of your dismal existence is not always of any help whatosever.

I've been there. I spent a period of my life numb to everything by taking copious amounts of amphetamines. It achieved nothing because my problems were still there when I stopped taking it.
Your just not ready and I acknowledge that and don't judge.

particularly over long periods of time. I've seen them destroy people from the inside, leaving them a gaunt husk of their former selves.

that's 5 weeks without booze. When are the good times gonna roll?

I am surprised that after drinknig nearly every Friday and Saturday night for the last 7 years or so that I'm not suffering any real withdrawal symptoms. Feel really bored on the Saturday night and really tempted when my friends have a go about coming out, but all in all it's been quite rewarding..

I like reading and whatnot but not every fucking night, and without exception every one of my pals is a caner, so it's 'stay in on my own' or 'intoxication' for me...

was a Blockbuster membership and junk food. Alwaysa good way to burn a couple of key hours on Saturday evening...

Problem solved.

Is that REALLY better, though? It's not much healthier and you end up reclusive.

Generally during my week I'm pretty active and have plenty to do. Just that Friday/Saturday nights when I'm at risk and need to pull out a trump card.. It's certainly cheaper!

When driving through the middle of town. Bit of a bastard, especially as the car has just been MOT'd and serviced.
(, Mon 23 Nov 2009, 9:55, Reply)
so excuse the potentially stupid question, but does that not mean the MOT wasn't done properly and thus you have some recourse?

The report said the exhaust had been welded, so I'm hoping something will happen.

Saturday my team crushed their opponents with ease, then in the evening a bunch of us celebrated a birthday with pub grub and pub beer. Sunday I hit the gym in the afternoon and a concert in the evening - Ingrid Michaelson. It was a really good gig.
