the /all function is something left over from b3ta radio
it's never been meant for public use.

However it leaked and people have used it for bullying, complaining, vote rigging and generally making the site more difficult for us to run.

It's gone I'm afraid. GONE.

*hand under chin, finger over lip, concerned frown*

shit, I've got no paperwork but I'm drinking tea
/sacked
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:30, Reply)
TEA! That's a fantastic idea!
(but i'm going to have coffee)
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:33, Reply)
That's fair enough, but /qotw is so big now I don't think anyone has the time to read all the stories...
I'm not sure what my point is though
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:28, Reply)
Good pointless post there
Have a cookie.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:29, Reply)
I just made a cup of tea and overheard that Tottenham was the first team to have a black player.
There's another pointless post for you.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:36, Reply)
I am enjoying the pointless posts
It's making me feel like sitting at my computer is a constructive use of time just now.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:38, Reply)
People say that tea has more caffine in it than coffee.
Those people are stupid. It does have more caffine in it pound for pound but a cup of coffee has more caffine than a cup of tea.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:42, Reply)
This fact I actually knew already
So I can label it TRUFAX!
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:44, Reply)
That doesn't make sense.
Or am I just being stupid?
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:44, Reply)
You're just being stupid.

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:45, Reply)
But surely if tea has more caffeine in it,
a cup will contain more caffeine than an equivalent sized coffee?
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:50, Reply)
no
because you use more coffee in a cup than you do tea.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:51, Reply)
No
Because you hardly use any tea to make a cup of tea compared to what you use to make a cup of coffee.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:51, Reply)
What if you like your tea very strong,
and your coffee very weak?
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:57, Reply)
Then you leave the tea bag in for longer, or use less coffee

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 11:01, Reply)
Do people actually say that?
Maybe I just don't know anyone that stupid. They can all spell 'caffeine' too.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:51, Reply)
I know several stupid people.
At least nine.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:53, Reply)
it's something that is widely "known" but is wrong

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:54, Reply)
The standard, and expected, answer to this would be.....
That's why there is a 'best of' page at the end of the week.

I'd still like /all though.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:30, Reply)
all is good to read
but once people know about it they have a habit of sticking in crap like "vote for me and I'll post a picture of me naked" and then when we mod it they scream blue murder that it's undemocratic and we're more evil than Stalin.

We want the best of to actually be about good stories and not a load of vote rigging crap.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:35, Reply)
Big Rob
Layin' down the law.

There he goes now, down the street, past the saloon and off into the sunset.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:38, Reply)
As if he'd pass a saloon
That's crazy talk.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 11:04, Reply)
In all fairness
An example of this was followed by the poster saying 'actually vote for the best story, not this'. Plus it was hilarious to watch people throwing hissy fits at the fact it was doing well.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:40, Reply)
not the only example and I'm not ragging on Becky - just an example that came to mind
anyway - if you want to play silly buggers then keep it in /offtopic. that's why I opened it.

QOTW is for stories - hopefully true, some of them not so true, but stories and not vote rigging ego games.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:44, Reply)
I do agree on all these points
It did almost bring on something resembling a MFOTFABL though.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:46, Reply)
I give up.
MFOTFABL?
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:49, Reply)
Moved Foot Off The Floor A Bit Laughing
It's old skool /OT
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:51, Reply)

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:53, Reply)
it's a very old offtopic exclusive meme.
I don't get it... I think you had to be there.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:54, Reply)
oh yeah - I don't really care what it means
I just enjoyed guessing the blanks.

OOH. Idea. Acronym quiz. Multiple players. Points for accuracy. Points for funny.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:57, Reply)
There's a multiplayer web game thing I think it's called acrowars?
That's a bit similar, it's very rough around the edges though, it could be a lot better.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:58, Reply)
I like the idea
But feel I would be rubbish at it.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:58, Reply)

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:42, Reply)
becky and I have been getting on too well lately anyway.

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:43, Reply)
I know.
I almost bought a hat the other day ready for the big event.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:46, Reply)
I voted loads for Edmund but I never got a picture of his naked cock.
So thank you.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 11:08, Reply)
So this is the end of
bullying, complaining and vote rigging?

Tis a sad day indeed. *plays bugle*
Dooo doooo dooooooooo do do dooooooooooo
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:28, Reply)
sadly not
there's still going to be plenty of that.

actually the sort of interesting bit about /all is that we broke in on purpose a couple of years back when the same trouble emerged.

but then someone went "ooh broken stuff" and fixed it - hence the same problem rears its head again.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:31, Reply)
Gosh, that was interesting.
Thanks!
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:33, Reply)
it's good for us
means we have to work harder for our vote rigging, bullying and complaining.

We've been getting complacent!
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:33, Reply)
Can I just say
VOTE FOR ME! VOTE FOR ME!!!!
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:36, Reply)
Wow thanks for the endoresment Monty

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:39, Reply)
Ha! Very good
Unlike your spelling of endorsement.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:42, Reply)
I can't complain any harder.
I'll explode.
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:38, Reply)
If I were
Stephen Fry I'd give you a point for that
(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 10:36, Reply)
If I were Stephen Fry I'd be appalled at my pathetic pandering to Steve Jobs.

(, Thu 28 Jan 2010, 11:14, Reply)
While I can see that it could cause issues when the questions are open
It would be nice to be able to get back the old school /all with everything on one page for closed questions.

With that I used to be able to load everything on one massive page on my mobile then I'd have enough to read while I was one a plane or the underground or whatever.
