Argh
Homoeopathic retard on BBC news right now:( Shes an actual medical doctor who believes it works, and not just as a placebo. This makes me sad.

The withdrawl of NHS support for sugar pills is a start
I think patients should have a choice, of sugar pills or mainstream medicine. To see which system works, we could scientiffically make a big pile of corpses out of the people who chose magic beans instead of proper treatment.
Having both is not an option, it would cloud the statistics.

If people can believe in God then it's not much of a leap to believe in homeopathic remedies.

A valid point
but do you want your medicine to be based on belief or scientific research?
When I take a tablet, I want it to work, even if I'm feeling a bit grumpy and not inclined to believe in anything Today.

I agree completely but.......
My youngest sister takes a Bach flower remedy now and again for nerves, when she took her driving test and when she gets stressed at work. She finds it helpful and I'm not going to tell her that it's a load of old tosh because of that fact.

Is the Bach Flower remedy homeopathic?
Or a herbal remedy. In which case there are plenty of chemicals inside.
The two systems are completely different.

According to Wiki it's homeopathic.
Very small amounts of certain flowers in a Brandy solution.

Brandy is not homeopathic
We are talking Buckfast here, aren't we?

was alcohol?

it strikes me that something like nerves is going to much more easy for the palcebo affect to overcome
rather than some kind of disease.
also, brandy solution before her driving test? surely not wise.

Have you seen the size of the bottles?
A two month old baby couldn't get drunk, and you only have to put a couple of drops on your tongue.

I reckon a two month old baby could get drunk on a very small amount of brandy

I fancy getting drunk on an indeterminate amount of brandy right now
Or possibly just falling asleep on my desk.

Yes but I find it sad when perfectly reasonable intelligent people
believe in an invisible and all powerful figment of their imagination.

Interestingly (or worryingly)
The placebo effect is getting stronger. Google Placebo effect more effective and weep for gullible humanity.

referred to the feeling you get when you realise the hot singer's actually a boy.
