Saw Hot Chip
in Newcastle on Thursday. They were ace. Not as good as their last tour, but still acemans none the less. I hope you've been listening to their new album because the set is very One Life Stand heavy.

Yayness
I'm particularly liking I Feel Better. The only song I've ever liked with vocoder vocals.

What about Juxtaposed With U?

(, Wed 24 Feb 2010, 16:16, Reply)
I was disappointed as they went off
that they didn't play Thieves in the Night, it's my favourite song on the album by some distance. Of course they then watlzed back on stage for the encore and started blasting it out perfectly. I was very happy at that moment.

Edit - Once again though, nowt from Coming on Strong. Not that I was expecting there to be, just a shame as it's my favourite album. I would have stabbed a baby at the entrance if it meant they'd play Crap Kraft Dinner.

Eh?
Are you saying you don't like 'Planet Rock' by Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force? Or 'Scorpio' by The Furious Five? Or 'Give The DJ a Break' by Dynamix II?

ARE YOU FUCKING DEAF OR SOMETHING?

I love you Monty
I hope to confuse young people with bands no-one's heard of when I'm as old as you.

I'll be going on about how much I hate Robbie Williams while modern consensus is that he's a musical genius.
(, Wed 24 Feb 2010, 16:59, Reply)
that's pretty unlikely

(, Wed 24 Feb 2010, 17:00, Reply)
I don't see much difference between the two to be honest
in terms of either talent or musical integrity
(, Wed 24 Feb 2010, 17:07, Reply)
It's my life's sole purpose.
All those listed are stone cold vocoder classics, I heartily endorse them all.

However I failed to mention the funkiest vocoder track of all time - 'More Bounce to the Ounce' by Zapp. Vocoder can be superb - Peter Frampton's 'Show Me the Way' is evidence that it can also be utterly, utterly bent.
(, Wed 24 Feb 2010, 17:08, Reply)
I love Show Me the Way :(

the next line should have been
'Chance'd be a fine thing'

But that's suitably scary yet intriguing as it is.
