Tame now, but I was nine at the time and it scared me shitless. I'd begged to be allowed to stay up and watch it, then spent the rest of the night not able to sleep.

Back in the eighties Day of the Triffids was serialised on the BBC.
Now it was on on the night that she would go to aerobics or some shit so she left the 6 year old me with pa on strict instructions that I was not to watch Day of the Triffids.
Pa ignored her instructions.
I was shit scared of plants for years later.
