I'm up even earlier than planned as I'm a bit nervous about my return to the working world today
What was the last thing that kept you up all night? Bonus points for "Your Mum"
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 5:28, 61 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
The last thing that kept me up all night
An exploding gall bladder. Waiting for the doctor to come round and give me morphine.

The time before that, and a long time ago, was a bad trip. All by myself, after the rest of my supposed mates decided they didn't want to take LSD that night. Not to be recomended.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 6:57, Reply)
Ouch
On both counts! Puts mine into perspective a bit.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 7:44, Reply)
Hey, I'm alive, that's what counts.
And you have a job to go to. The best of luck to you. I hope you don't find you are working for cunts too soon (or at all, would be better).
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 7:50, Reply)
Good luck with the new job.
The last thing that kept me up all night was my own stupidity. A couple of weeks ago I had a very late night at a friend's house drinking beer and playing on space hoppers. The following day I went to a gig in Oxford, got back at midnight, had dinner, sat watching tv for a bit and before I knew it, it was 4am and I had work in three hours. Instead of sleeping and ruining myself I stayed up and ruined myself.

I stay up all night occasionally as a tool for resetting my body clock if it gets out of whack. It works a treat as long as you stay up the following day and force yourself into a good sleeping routine afterwards.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 7:32, Reply)
I do that myself occasionally
And will be doing it a lot more now that I've got this strange new shift pattern to get used to.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 7:45, Reply)
Nothing keeps me up at night.
But I discovered last night that a chip butty, a bottle of wine and a zombie film is the recipe to a good night in alone.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:16, Reply)
I'm definitely having a chip butty for dinner tonight.
Or maybe a Bird's Eye Potato Waffle butty. Or a sausage butty. Or a cheese and chili toastie. Or a ham and mustard sandwich. Or a steak and tomato baguette. Or ciabatta with chopped tomatoes and garlic. Or a chicken and honey wrap. Or a stuffed naan. Or some chipotle on toast. Or keema pittas. Or Marmite crumpets. Or English muffins with butter. Or dough balls. Or pancakes and fresh caramel. Or pizza.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:19, Reply)
Get with the in crowd Noel.

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:20, Reply)
I'm so cool it's fucking agony.

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:22, Reply)
I've also discovered that those boxes of microwave chips hold just enough chips for a chip butty.
Not the best chips in the world but ok smothered in salt and ketchup on a bap.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:24, Reply)
I haven't had Microchips in years
specifically because they're bloody awful.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:25, Reply)
chicken and honey wrap
much better. And Microchips taste of cardboard
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:32, Reply)
I've made myself very hungry.

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:34, Reply)
It does help if you've had a bottle of wine.
They taste better then.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:32, Reply)
Everything does

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:33, Reply)
True; driving, operating heavy machinery and open heart surgery are all better after a botttle of wine

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:02, Reply)
or all 3 at once

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 11:31, Reply)
Last night
general insomnia and exam worry. Not that I'll do anything about that of course. Just worry quietly

When I woke up this morning

I had no idea where I was, what day it was or why I would need to get up. It was horrible, I think i must have been really deeply asleep.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:35, Reply)
I was dreaming about waking up when I woke up
which was nice.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:42, Reply)
I often dream that I'm awake and getting ready for work.
This has caused me to be late for work on many an occasion.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:45, Reply)
My step dad used to work shifts.
My mum said one night he woke up, sat bolt upright and said,'where am I, what day is it, am I supposed to be at work?'.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:44, Reply)
I had a temperature once and was having a dream about being in a cave with a really low ceiling
I woke up and the room was pitch black and I was convinced I was in the cave and low had to avoid banging my head so I crawled towards a little light in the corner of the room, opened the door and fell into the bathroom.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:55, Reply)
I was awake until about 3am fuming at Piglet.
And woke up again at about 5am, still fuming.
Unfortunately the anger is all mine to deal with as I can't really blast him for what he did.
Anyway, I'm at work now so I can relax.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:43, Reply)
So, what did he do?

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:48, Reply)
Fuming at Piglet?
Let Eeyore and Tigger deal with it.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:48, Reply)
They are weak disciplinarians, send him to Captain Planet

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 8:53, Reply)
Nah, sent Kanga in.

I wouldn't like to say the last thing that kept me up all night was a chorus of mild snoring from Noel and Wookiee....

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:06, Reply)

snoring bumming
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:08, Reply)
I deliberately shoved Sugar Puffs up my nostrils before passing out.

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 14:08, Reply)
MOOMIN!
I feel like I've been up all night but I haven't.
I was up late, but I have had some sleep.
It was ruined by dreams that were as tiring as being awake.
I want a bacon butty and some Coke I do.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:24, Reply)
Alright Gary?

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:39, Reply)

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 10:04, Reply)
And what was the subject of these atheletic dreams?

(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:40, Reply)
It was like the Crystal Maze or On Safari
But with 1980s hot bitches being sly and murderous behind doors.
Teak doors. Like in posh Portakabins.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:55, Reply)
It sounds like you were on the cheese again.
Top dream there.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2010, 9:57, Reply)
No cheese
Some rustic chicken and chorizo thing, strawberries, ice cream and pistachios.
(And lots of red and white wines)
