Or understand that his lyrics were full of earthy humour.

This isn't a slight on you, I don't wish you any ill thoughts about this but I have a right to speak my mind. I'm not saying you have to agree with me, you don't at all, it's your progrative to feel however you want to feel about the issue.... but no, I do not know who Ian Dury is.
Please note, it is the person your'e reffering to that I do not understand, and not you.

that's an example of the "earthy humour"

it's so lucky that he found such a sympathetic and experienced support group to help him deal with his issues.
I wonder if we can diagnose him with anything....

I can't think of any other terrible disorders he might have.

oh Gonz that's bad even for you.
And I didn't think you would misspell a word that Britney has written a song about. Go and look at the album, come back and try again.

I think you need to carefully read the above, and have a good long think about whether you're really cut out for attempting to appear superior and condescending on an internet forum.
Particularly when you have so little understanding of people and the world in general.

and seriously saying that someone who you basically don't know has "so little understanding of people and the world in general"
and you don't realise how that is being a dick?

Do you not stop and think before posting? I was responding in kind to someone (who basically doesn't know me) who tried to make me out to be an emo kid whose life sucks. Do you consider that he was being a dick?
(, Sun 18 Apr 2010, 17:27, Reply)
To a bit of piss taking. The reaction would have been the same to anyone else who posted what you did, so don't play the clique card.
And singling out certain people to be a dick to, when there were plenty of others who took the piss.
This post in particular stinks so badly of hypocrisy ONLINE I might have to go and have a shower to get the smell out of my hair.

I responded to this particular thread in the tone it was started.
I explained in the other thread why I started it without being rude to anyone. The thread didn't fit, it's not a big deal you can always ignore it. That's where the over-reaction is.

before you get on your high horse about things. Stop taking yourself so seriously. Definitely stop taking the internet so seriously.
and not insulting people on here who are regulars and are well-liked (not me, I'm talking about Gonz, and CHCB) might be an idea.

is taking the internet too seriously.
Lyrics = Emo irrespective of context, seemed to be the Pavlovian response of "internet little Englanders" protecting their preceious part of the internet. I enjoy a well crafted turn of phrase almost as much as a well crafted bottled beer. Why is giving and seeking examples of one fine and the other some terrible faux pas?
With regard to insulting people, I have to say that you seem to suggesting that popular posters have the right to insult me but I shouldn't respond because they've been here longer are well liked.
I'm afraid that sort of "politics of the playground" towards the new kid doesn't sit well with me.
Also I didn't actually insult one of the people you mention, I made a qualified statement. "IF you think ..., THEN ..."
(, Sun 18 Apr 2010, 18:09, Reply)
I'm sorry, but in this case, I just don't understand what your'e trying to imply. I understand this could make you feel like nobody ever understands you, but please understand, it is the statements you've said that I don't understand, and not you as an individual.
Have you got someone to talk to about this sort of thing? I think you could find it helpful if you did.
