I don't think I have any phrases no one else would understand,
but I'm surrounded by northerners who say things like "7 while 8" and "lets go pub".
(, Wed 12 May 2010, 13:31, Reply)
7 while 8?
you'd think that being in Devon I'd have some indecipherable colloquialisms as well, but I can't think of a single one.
(, Wed 12 May 2010, 13:34, Reply)

Quite hard to type out really and I can see why NakedApe thought Geordie. It's quite incredible how different accents are though working through main settlements from Orkney through past Inverness! And well the less said about Doric the better!

I'll have two pies - a plain one and (some kind of not plain one) also.

I'm pretty confident with my guess that it's from Dundee, though.
