Well I was going to go for the argument
that the predicting isn't hard in itself but that fact that weather is a chaotic system makes it very hard to measure accuratly enough.
Forecasting is not hard, I do it all the time, but forecasting weather is immensly difficult.

I understand that,
it just seems that the weather forecasters here seem keen on making it look like it'll be a mild winter, forecasting a week of days at 15, 16 degrees. There has not been one day since saturday where we have gotten above 12 degrees.

I'd disagree
but mainly the terminology
my work involves prediction, the science is really quite exact, it's just that the data isn't available or isn't up to the job a lot of the time
