Brilliant day so far.
I had a (wedding) dress fitting, then my hair/makeup trial, then went to a garden centre to look at flowers, my mother gave me some yummy beans and spinach from her garden to take home, and I've just drunk orange juice from a wine glass. I'm so smug right now.

Good weekends? Bad weekends? What are you doing this weekend?

Alternatively, what's the weirdest weekend break you've been on?

oh
noone around. Off doing stuff. Oh well. I shall sit here, drinking (wine now) and singing to myself.

I've just eaten a shoulder of lamb.
pricked all over with garlic. It was well nom, but I had planned something more special for it.

My new fridge arrives tomorrow, but I think I may become a vege.

Yum!
Lamb with garlic and rosemary poked into it is looooovely.

NOOOOO! Do not convert to the dark side! Stay with the path of the meaty righteous!

Further to my post in Bartleby's thread
I've now completed my "hundred miles in four days on my bike" challenge as well as going swimming and playing a tennis match, and I'm having a day off tomorrow to go power kiting.

Congrats!
I'm trying to swim a mile twice a week at the moment. I like my 25/30 mile bike rides, and there is some lovely countryside around here, but I'm just lazy at the moment and can't be bothered to get on my bike.

I've been celebrating
the Fourth of July a little early by enjoying my independence from crutches. Which means that I cleared out the living room this morning and ran the vacuum cleaner for the first time in about four months. (I could never get the kids to do it- lazy gits.) I had to empty the chamber on the vacuum three times in the process.

I'm still skeeved out.

Woo!
Congrats on getting off (the crutches). Hehehe.

It's not being easy.
My knee is giving me fits, to say the least. Apparently because I favor the broken ankle, I walk with my toe pointed outward enough that it's causing strain on the knee ligaments.

All I know is that when I get up in the morning, it hurts like a motherfucker. Takes me a couple of minutes to stand well enough to hobble to the bathroom.

On the other hand, at the moment my living room no longer mings.

And a clean living room
is a safe living room.

Maybe.

Safe is a relative term.
At least there are no longer shoes lying around, and the carpet no longer feels gritty. But the stack of DVDs by the TV frightens me- god knows what's in there at this point. I'd really rather not find out about my son's nocturnal viewing habits, if you know what I mean.

Bah!
Work this morning.

Work tomorrow morning.

But then I do have Monday off - during which I shall sit in the garden (if sunny) and enjoy a few well earned glasses of wine (I may even have a crossiant) while everyone ELSE is at work.
