despite being forced to listen to reggae
all evening I managed to get a date with a girl from school after seeing her in tesco. I still hate reggae though.

Hiya Psychochomp
You got a date with a girl? Ooh, that's nice. Where will you be taking her? What's she like? I hope you're better with women than the real Psychochomp, Psychochomp.

Some reggae is fucking brilliant*, you cloth-eared dolt.
How anyone can not love Prince Far-I is beyond me.

*I do concede that shit reggae is perhaps the shittest of shit music. Lovers' Rock is utterly bent.

no no no Monty I disagree
it's dull as bollocks and all sounds the same. I was going insane listening to so much.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:07, Reply)
My brother is an obsessive dub collector
and I must say why anyone could be bothered to acquire, or even tell apart, 500+ dub LPs is something I cannot understand.

But a tune like 'Under Mi Sensi' cannot fail to lift the spirits, in Boyce Towers.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:11, Reply)
I'll try and download it. I'm open to most things but reggae can do one now.

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:35, Reply)
I used to love a bit of reggae on a summers day.
Can of Red Stripe in one hand and a doobie in the other.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:07, Reply)
^this
it's barbecue music.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:08, Reply)
Years ago I used to drink a lot of Red Stripe and I made a song.
To be sung in Jamaican accent.

I love my Jamaican lager beer
It makes me smile from ear to ear
It makes me want to dance all night
But if I drink too much it makes me want to fight.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:15, Reply)
I will buy you lots of Red Stripe
if you promise to sing this for everyone in October.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:30, Reply)
I don't drink it any more but I'll sing it anyway : )

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:32, Reply)
No, it's just red wine now.
LOTS of red wine.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 10:30, Reply)
hehe Jamaican beer can

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:49, Reply)
In the west country we switch the red stripe for a can of cider

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:44, Reply)
speak for yourself

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 10:05, Reply)
In the west country SOME of us change the red stripe for cider

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 10:20, Reply)
better

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 10:21, Reply)
I should have changed some to 'normal folk'

way to go bobbychomp
Reggae is ok if it's sunny, although Wiggy loves it and plays it for hours and I'm sure it's all the same song.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:08, Reply)
Like any musical genre
If you're not a fan, it all sounds the same.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:11, Reply)
finally, something (significant) where wiggy and I are different
I like the odd reggae tune (and Dub Side of the Moon is particularly awesome) but if I listened to it for hours I'd become murderous.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:30, Reply)
You had to mention Dub Side of the Moon didn't you?
He's got that in his car at the moment. Grrr
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:31, Reply)
it is a work of fucking genius though

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:33, Reply)
I much prefer 60s ska.
The best compilations of Jamaican music by a country mile are the 100% Dynamite ones - they are comprehensive and cover the best of all styles, and include well-known classics alongside more obscure 'expert' cuts.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:41, Reply)
Ska's ok
but I think it's all about Electronica for me at the moment.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:45, Reply)
ROCK!
*devil horns*
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:46, Reply)
sure, everyone loves a bit of rock,
I've even been to slipknot gigs but in my mellow old age of almost 30 I'm beginning to like beeps and whistles and static
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:56, Reply)
I'm not a big fan really
Dub Side appeals because they have taken something I already really like, and have done some quite clever and talented musical things with it (turning Money into 4/4 time for instance)
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:46, Reply)
yeah I totally noticed that 4x4 timing thing

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:49, Reply)
yes dear
*pats head*
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:55, Reply)
Half a mo - 'girl from school'?
You're a student teacher, right?

PAEDO SCUM.

let me get my mobbing hat

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:32, Reply)
It is, I hope,
one of those Puritan 'Witchfinder General' type hats with a broad brim and a large buckle?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:39, Reply)
aye
It goes well with my buckled shoes and witch hunting apron
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:50, Reply)
I should have clarified
A girl I went to school with over 10 years ago. She is a grown up honest.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:36, Reply)
It's much too late for this detail.
The mob is baying, the hats are donned.

You shall BURN.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:43, Reply)
Can we at least wait until
Saturday as then I will have been out with Mel at least.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 9:45, Reply)
I don't think that will be possible.
When they get fired up, this mob are somewhat impatient. Let's hope she has a Simon Weston fetish.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 10:16, Reply)
His kids went to my boarding school
He was the burn guy wasn't he.
