From her point of view, if you didn't contact her before she contacted you today, I don't think you can blame her for assuming that you forgot.

we haven't had the other side of the story from the horse's mouth, so you have a small point, but at least the rest of us are familiar with the repeated examples of this sort of behaviour, we know how much Monty dotes on his daughter and how she is the most important thing to him.
