I fancy Scandinavia too. I've never made it to any part of the Nordic region yet. I've been to Estonia, which is as close as I've come to it.

You have good tall genes then!
The Dutch are the tallest nation in the world, I believe. Your average Dutchman is a good three inches taller than your average Brit. Even the women are all about as tall as the British male.

'Alcoholocaust' would be a fair assessment - no mean feat in a country where beer was £4.50 a pint at a time when it was about half that over here.

Mind you, the Finns - who've no unltra-stringent taxation on alcohol seem to have booze problems that would shame us Brits.

Oh hear this one...
My auntie's married to a greek (We'll call him Yosif). His brother (Stavros!) had come to stay, and HER brother (my uncle Nicky) comes for drinks, gets pissed and stays also.
Next morning, there's MURDER because my uncle, pissed and naked, gets into bed with greek's brother and leaves him sickened and mortally offended.
The argue continues past breakfast time, where Yosif roars "Seriously, what the fuck is your brother doing getting into bed with MY brother like that. Is he a pousti (gay)???"
Whereby my uncle goes "You're calling me gay? I just wanted some kip. Your brother's the one with white shoes mate..."

It's not nearly as bad as you think
since their economy went tits up in 2008. I went for 3 days at the start of this year and it was breathtaking - and I managed to do it for £320 including spending money. (ok so I was pretty frugal but it can be done)
