Mini thread - best pub in brizzle
I'm going to go for Mrs Beeses on a sunny day. Take the boat over, eat a burger and drink fantastic cider in the garden.

And, importantly, few of the trustafarians from Clifton et al come and visit
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:11, 4 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I've been here 10 years and still not made it to Beeses.
Not sure what my favourite pub is now. Hare on the Hill used to be good. I like the Bath Ales ones.

Beeses is brill - you should go. Nice and kid friendly too.
I think for me it'd have to be the Sugarloaf on St Marks road in easton. Best jukebox around, pool tables, lovely garden, excellent range of ciders, lagers, and local ales - some crazy locals and me!

I like the Apple for all the cider
but my favourite is the sportsmen for sheer tacky sport and shit food man pub
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:17, Reply)
The Apple is quite nice
gets quite busy though.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:21, Reply)
The Apple is ok
but Coritap has cider AND good music.

In Clifton?
We walked by it on Saturday, but it was shut (about 2pm?). Went to one by the shops instead, with a Wii in.
Also, the Stag got angry at the human-sized Playmobil Pirate outside the posh kid's barbers.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:24, Reply)
Yeah, Coritap is only open in the evenings.
It's won Music Pub of the Year a few times. My ex plays there now and again so I used to go along and stay for the lock-ins after.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:28, Reply)
It looked cool
As did the one next to it, that had tons of signs out, but was also closed.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:31, Reply)
Tis good.
But it NEVER seems to be open when I want to go there. It's rather annoying.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:31, Reply)
I used to go there every day when I worked at the prison...
Is it the Annexe at the back? They do awesome stonebaked pizzas...
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:21, Reply)
yeah it's amazing
5er for an ace pizza

Didn't get to check out The Apple, but we made up for it with Urban Tiger...
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:20, Reply)
Hatchet is always good...
What the fuck is this Urban Tiger place then? I've never even heard of it... Sounds like a chav bar.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:21, Reply)
it's a Gentleman's Club
Just on that big main road-y bit with the fountains in the middle.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:22, Reply)
fountains?
you mean the triangle - by Habitat at the bottom of whiteladies road?
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:24, Reply)
Concrete and metal things in a pool spouting water
In front of the theatre, just as you head towards the waterside.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:25, Reply)
Or 'the centre' as everyone else calls it.

(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:28, Reply)
Well if you're going to get all technical about it...

(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:30, Reply)
Sorry.
As you were.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:32, Reply)

(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:33, Reply)
Walk down the centre
It's on your left, tiger striped front.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:34, Reply)
next to the theatre?
there is a chippy there who do the worlds best chips and gravy
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:39, Reply)
Other side of the road
Wish I'd known that, all those take-aways were rammed, so walked to one near the hostel, where I had a sub-bar kebab meat and chips. The chili sauce was watery.

DURTY LAPDANCING
ye filthy hoors!
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:35, Reply)
Hey!
I only went because the Stag Party insisted, and I had a dance bought for me. It meant I've crossed one thing off my "50 things to do before I'm eaten by bears" list though.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:44, Reply)
Ha ha!!
I was in there last night too!! I just didn't know what it was called!!
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:29, Reply)

I just got a bit of lip from one of the bouncers.

In a manner of speaking.

I did, because I asked them
I'm a gentleman after all.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 15:33, Reply)
