There's not such link
He's just playing with you.

I kind of like corned beef. Mark's parents think I love it, and they always prepare corned beef sandwiches for me... and I eat it, but I don't really like it that much.

I like the stuff you get from the counter
the tinned stuff is just wrongness in a can

They get it from the counter
They are well posh. I don't mind it, but it doesn't get me crazy.

with or without pickle?
it's also quite nice with mustard

With pickle
I love pickle. I put a lot of it and mustard, and some pickled egg as well, so that I can't taste the corned beef so much.

Oof, that'd be a smelly sandwich for certain!

Ah ... now, would you call that salt beef or corned beef?
Many have been confused (and possibly disappointed) at the difference ...
(, Thu 11 Nov 2010, 12:47, Reply)
well he called it corned beef..
and seeing as it wasn't cooked fully in brine, I'm inclined to believe him.

Although, re-reading and watching I'm not sure now??

When I hear corned beef I think of the pressed minced stuff you get in tins.
I think he's using salt-cured whole beef, which can also be confusingly referred to as corned beef, because of the 'corns' or grains of coarse salt sometimes used in the curing process.

I bow to your salt beef geek knowledge,
I'll stick to shellfish from now on.

Fucking awesome salt beef sandwiches.
Someone said "Who brings sandwiches to a bash?" and I said "That man there, may the lord bless his chopping board!"

Why thank you kindly. They seemed to go down a treat, which is always good to see.
I make a large chunk of it (~4.5kg) for a drinking weekend trip I go on every six months, been doing it for a fair few years now ... I had some left over and thought why not.
