Boil sheets of lasagnia, oil them up, griddle for crunchy bits and add to the rest of the pasta dish like you would..... Oh god.
I wonder if you could replace nachos with crispy pasta?

It's so crazy that it might just work.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:21, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
or nacho lasagna?
With a kind of salsa-ish tomato sauce and sour cream in the bechamel?

You could be onto something here, young man.

I think it would work, like an abbaretta sauce.
All backed need the gwakamoli, that's my gave bit, maybe make each layer a different dip with bachamel on top and when you plate it up out of the oven, put it on a bed of the Gwak so it isn't hot.

Or maybe just cook the pasta in sheets and construct it post cooking.

I suppose deep frying the pasta would work, but it wouldn't be healthy.

Is this what you're going to be cooking me later?
nom nom nom

I just got back from cockfosters.
I'm totally going to show you what a _real_ bagel (that's prounced bye-gul) is all about. Sweetened Chopped Herring and Chopped Chicken Liver.

Sounds rank, taste amazing.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:52, Reply)
Ah but it might be fucking tasty, so health be damned.

The Nacho
lasagne sort of exists already, but it's more commonly known as Frito pie. The problem is that the chili tends to make the nachos gooey very, very quickly.

*ponders*

Add more cheese
It might not help, but you can't go wrong with cheese.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:44, Reply)
Frito pie, eh?
*makes note*

Good Mexican and/or Tex-Mex food is criminally under-represented in this country isn't it?

Cafe Pacifico in Covent Garden,
or La Perla on Charlotte Street.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:46, Reply)
Cafe Pacifico is the only half decent one I've had over here.
I think it costs too much for what you get, though.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:49, Reply)
Try the Aha Toro tequila cream liqueur.
It's remarkably palatable for something with tequila in.

RIP Chiquitos...
... there used to be one near every PC-World-in-a-a-buisness-park in north london.... or at least, the only two PC Worlds I've been too; Staple's Corner near Brent Cross... and the one in Enfield.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:54, Reply)
there's one in leicester square
i was there on wed, but it was full, so we ended up at pizza hut
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:56, Reply)
Yup, they've concentrated it all into one place now, I think, which is is shit, 'cus I don't like overpacked tourest resturants.

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:58, Reply)
Unlucky.
Worst chain of restaurants in the world, bar 'TGI Cunt-fest' and 'Angus 'Steak' houses'.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:59, Reply)
I really like TGIs, and Old Orlines, and Outback.
Have you heard of the onion bloomer? It's rediculous. I don't think I've ever been to Outback without throwing up within two hours, but normally when I do throw up, I like to do it while I'm there so I can reload with more lovely deep fried stuff.

Don't ever go there.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:03, Reply)
Would you mind
terribly if I nick 'TURBO SHIT' for use in my own spreaking/writing, please? I really like it.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:11, Reply)
haha, I'm now unwelcome in Cafe Pacifico
Due to an incident involving latex underwear about 10 years ago. Good times. Still, fucking brutal margaritas and the steak and scallop fajitas are something else.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:14, Reply)
Mexican food is getting better
The burrito revolution is happening, you can't fucking spit without hitting a fancy burrito bar now.

Try Wahaca, it's really good traditional Mexican food.

Tex-Mex is impossible to find. I doubt anyone could really hack it over here either.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:48, Reply)
Fucking poofters.

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:49, Reply)
wahaca is awesome
it's not all deep fried fifteen times and covered in sour cream like a lot of mexican restaurants.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:49, Reply)
Where do I find these hombres?

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:53, Reply)

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 11:54, Reply)
Liverpool St is walking distance from my home,
I might be going 'Mehican' for my supper, it seems.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:00, Reply)
There isn't,
unless you count Canary Wharf as close to Liverpool St.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:02, Reply)
Ah tits.

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:07, Reply)
Try the Flying Burrito
on Middlesex St. Can't guarantee it as I haven't eaten there, but it looks ok!

One day I'll find me a resturant that will let me batter and deep fry anything my heart desires, with a panter's pallet of condiments.

Move to Scotchland, Gonz, and your dream shall come true.

(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:00, Reply)
Come round
and fry whatever you want in my deep fryer :D

I already do weird, weird things.
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:02, Reply)
Can we do this?
http://blog.90nz0.com/2010/11/18/living-with-friends-vs-mum-vs-on-your-own/....
".....You get a tiny ball of cream cheese, batter, deep fry, cover in peanut butter, batter, deep fry, cover in nutella, batter, deep fry, cover in mashed banana, batter, deep fry, cover in caramel, let it set, batter, deep fry, cover in….. etc etc, until you have a rugby ball. Slice that baby up like a watermelon and enjoy! I think it’ll work; one day I shall create this......"
(, Fri 19 Nov 2010, 12:05, Reply)
Hahahaha
I've already tried something similar, deepfried some cookie dough, then wrapped it in some peanut butter, then deep fried again.

:D
