My Aldi laptop pretty much freezes whenever I get too many notifications. Half the time it freezes while I'm typing because I type too fast for it to keep up. so him doing this is his way of trying to upset my laptop.

Get anyone with the knowhow to have a look at the startup, and if you've got loads of icons on the desktop, remove them, it's surprising how much that can help.

Check your taskbar to make sure you've not got loads of background programs running. If you're confident enough to know what should and shouldn't be running at startup, go to 'run', then type 'msconfig', and go to the startup tab.
If you don't know what should and shouldn't be left running, don't do anything with it, get someone to have a look.
