This is a question Sexism

Freddie Woo tells us: Despite being a well rounded modern man I think women are best off getting married and having a few kids else they'll be absolutely miserable come middle age.

What views do you have that are probably sexist that you believe are true?

On the road
Women are good drivers. The reason being is that they don't have a load of testosterone making them hot-headed, over confident and prone to showing off.

However, they can be so inconsiderate. At the end of my street is a T-junction. One that is busy enough from each direction to warrant a mini-roundabout. Consequently, turning right is a pain in hole (either down the side-road or out onto the main road). Other drivers will stop and let you out. I've been keeping track, and I've found that it's very rare that a women driver will stop - even if they're waiting to turn right down the side street. I need a break in both lanes in traffic, she's stopped one of them and so it isn't to much to ask to just let me out.

And they can be such ingrates. In the above situation, if I stop and let a women driver turn right, I very rarely get any acknowledgment.

Men: Take note, and you'll see what I mean

Women: Prove me wrong.

I have a theory
Maybe they're good drivers because they stick to the highway code, and are less hotheaded because they concentrate on what they're doing better...and as they're concentrating on sticking to the highway code, there's no room for manoeuvre in situations like the one you described?

It's just a theory. We went out for dinner today and on the way back, the man of the house crashed into the new fence. That he'd built himself. About six months ago.

Statistically...

...women are more likely to have accidents, but less likely to have serious accidents.

Women may be safer..
but I completely agree that they are much less likely to let you out of a busy junction.

the average woman drives around staring at the tip of her bonnet, sat FAR too close to the steering wheel, completely unaware of what's going on around her.

saying that, the average man isnt much better

Certainly agree about them being inconsiderate
My street is 2 way, but very narrow. If 2 cars are passing in opposite directions, somebody has to move over and let the other pass. There's not always a discernable rule about who goes first, you just need to be reasonable and polite about it.

There are two groups of people who never, ever move over, and who never say thank you when you do - women, and anybody in a 4 wheel drive.

I've been observing this in this street for the last 4 years and it happens without fail. And being a lady myself, I simply do not understand this total lack of common courtesy that seems to strike my gender.

If it's a mini roundabout, you give way to your right. always.

(from a woman, btw, and a biker no less, so I have to know what I'm doing on the roads else I'll end up dead).
