This is a question Your first cigarette

To be honest, inhaling the fumes from some burning leaves isn't the most natural thing in the world.
Tell us about the first time. Where, when, and who were you trying to show off to?

Or, if you've never tried a cigarette, tell us something interesting on the subject of smoking.

Personally, I've never ever smoked a cigarette. Lung damage from pneumonia put me off.

For no good reason...
Last night, I mentioned in conversation that I'd never seen The Breakfast Club. What films haven't you seen?

So I heard, but I've seen 1-8, so I kind of wanted to see where they went with the story.

@ crackhouseceilidhband
You really should watch it, it's brilliant. I thought it wouldn't be my cup of tea but it's now one of my favourite movies.

@lostit...
I like Wagner, but the sound I prefer is that of a cat held by its tail using its claws to gain purchase on a blackboard.

Wagner: wonderful moments, but terrible quarter hours.

Not being able to go out much these days
Due to sprogs, I tend to get the DVD and then fall asleep halfway through.

I am officially the world's No 1 authority on the beginning of films.

And at least with VHS you could just stop the damn tape and know where you had to start from next time. DVD scene selection, my arse.

The list titled "movies I want to see" from my Palm Pilot:
American Wedding
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Undercover Brother
Kung Fu Hustle
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (have since heard it was crap, maybe I don't want to spoil my memory of the book)
The Man

You might think I have bad taste in movies. You might be right.

Well, it started okay, y'know - they were just getting over the firestation being sold to developers to be made into luxury apartments at the end of Fisting Firemen 8. Then Max, the station chief, he was injured in a freak hosing accident and lost his genitalia, but the hot doctor, Dr Vadge, she built him a new cybercock and the other fireman buddied up with him to help him test it. Then Studly, the sub-chief, he was caught in a backdraft and badly burned and had to undergo what looked like fairly dubious hydrotherapy in order to get him back to full health. It ended with them all sitting around polishing their helmets.

I have sat through the whole Ring when Radio 3 did it a couple of springs ago. It made my bum numb.
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 14:37, closed)
^
be glad you didn't sit through Fisting Firemen 9, then.
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 14:39, closed)
@chcb
They used the "seminal hydrotherapy" in 2 and 6, guess it's a clever back-reference.

Thanks for the synopsis, I wasn't sure how it'd carry on, after the problem with Studly and the "cat in the tree" from 8.

boy, did they milk that pussy joke.
There's an amusing gag about a cherrypicker this time.

Ah...
I broke my cherrypicker once.
Worst week of my life :(
