Friends Reunited is excused from this one, but why do people you haven't seen for 15-20 years and wouldn't recognise on the street add you as friends?

It's doubly perplexing when you barely knew them at school. I get friend requests from people I probably exchanged a grand total of four words with almost 2 decades ago.

Are they playing some sort of "I've got more friends than you" game with someone? Classmate Pokémon?

Personally, I find it extremely satisfying to "reject" people: we never got on at school, why the hell do they want to get in contact now? Oh yeah, to boost their friend numbers and try and look popular.

"look at me, I have 400 friends on facebook". Really? Would any of them meet you down the pub tonight if you contacted them? No? Well they're not your fucking friends then. Grr.

You know the person, they have 250 friends plus. That's an awful lot of social networking. What is the cut off point for thinking "This knobber is literally adding everyone he's ever glanced at!"
