Wisdom teeth
Don't have GA, it means you have to inconvenience someone else to accompany you home afterwards. Be a man (or independent woman) and have them removed under local. Also, this means you're aware of what's going on.

Dude
I'm seventeen - I live out of town - I have to get all my teeth out at once and they don't do that in my nearest big town. I have to travel two hours and get a GA cos there is no way I'm staying awake through it. Not when my teeth are impacting horizontally into my existing teeth so badly they're pushing them out of shape.

*quails and won't man the fuck up*
I'm scared. I don't like dentists at the best of times.

I can understand
the need to get them all out at one, but mine were very impacted too, growing sideways into my other teeth with their roots all curved, dental surgeon still got them out under local with no discomfort on my part. I was really impressed, and grateful.

My lower ones
were both impacting forwards and hadn't erupted from the gum. The lower left has fused around the jawbone and had to be chiselled out. The lower right was left in because I had a molar removed when I was 19 and was therefore not causing any bother. The top teeth were pulled out as they had nothing against them on the bottom.

The whole procedure took just over an hour and he had to call in another dentist to give him a hand. and I was wide awake for the duration. By choice I might add.

Does it not bother you that if you had GA, the dentist might be teabagging you as you slept?

I don't care
if I can't remember it - I don't care. Quite honestly. Lol.

went through this last friday!
I had LA as I was scaremongered by a Doctor friend about the dangers of anaesthetic, plus my dentist never really gave me a choice to be honest, so I spent a week shitting myself about the prospect of unbelievable pain and listening to horror stories from friends. It was fine, not sore at all, stuffed my mouth full of gauze and i got loaded up on ibuprofen no worries. However, as I hadn't eaten anything I got pretty hungry later on, but fell asleep. I awoke from a glorious dream about eating a Dominos pizza, only to realise the crust I was suckling at was none other than the 8 hour old bloodied piece of gauze that I was supposed to discard after a couple of hours, nice!

One more piece of advice, if you are having LA, bring your ipod. The hideousness of the crunching sound the tooth made will haunt my dreams forever
