Computer training
I signed up to a several job agencies recently. Then earlier today, I got a call from these people:
www.careerjobsuk.com/
They offer e-learning to gain a Microsoft Certification. They get it dirt cheap and I would make a monthly payments at a massive discount because apparently they get funding or some such. I couldn't really hear very clearly because my phone is quiet, it's very windy outside and my eldest was playing COD in the background.
She said she'd call back tomorrow, then an email arrived. The email, the attached document and their website itself contained enough errors to not fill me with any confidence whatsoever.

So I did of digging, and found this:
www.certforums.co.uk/forums/new-members-introduction/42901-career-jobs-uk.html

If and when she calls back tomorrow, should I just sack her off or give her the runaround? I welcome your suggestions.

tell her you're not interested
and if they keep calling you, you'll do them for harrassment. i don't know if you really could, but it should get rid of the scamming cunts.

Oh I could,
I've spent a lot of time on dchurch's old site and it's amazing what you can pull off.
Not only could I pursue them over harrassment, but also serve them a S.10 of the Data Protection Act notice which forces them to stop using my data.

do it!
teach the fuckers a lesson!

I had something like this once, they were called "The Restaurant People"
and they called, emailled and even posted me a constant deluge of crap, somehow unable to take my details off their database when I called them on it and explained that I'm a web developer, and that I have no interest working "silver service" or indeed any other kind of service.

Ultimately I googled their site and found some girl who was listed as their "Data Protection Officer". Foolishly, she had put up her personal mobile number on the website, so henceforth, every time I was contacted by the cunting Restaurant People, I called her on her mobile and either left a lengthy message about how she should look at removing my details from their database or told her point blank that not only was I going to call her every time I got a call, text, email or letter, but that as "Data Protection Officer" she really shouldn't have published her personal mobile number on the company's website.

I've just googled them and I don't think they exist any more.

Nope, they still exist.
Or, at least, some bunch of charlatans with that name still exists.

The cafeteria at work recently went out to tender. Compass got it, but Restaurant People was one of the bidders, so I was told.

This sounds very similar to something that happened to my boyfriend....
They phoned him up and offered to come round to display all the courses they offered. It was only once he'd hung up he thought to look them up online and found out that they offered very poor courses, charging hundreds for qualifications and material you could get anywhere else for muuuuch less, and were more expensive than actually going to college.

He phoned them back and cancelled.

At first I thought
the site was 'Career Job Suck'.

I shall be watching this like a hawk
although legal terminology make my head spin, I have no real suggestion other than bum them in the fuck dude.
(, Mon 23 May 2011, 14:25, closed)
I looked up the domain name
And the email given by the registrant is a live.com address. Essentially Hotmail. They're not even very good at appearing professional.

Looking elsewhere, the full address is [email protected] if anybody wants to contact him, add him to MSN, sign him up for stuff.

It's funny how it took that amount of digging
Isn't that considered fraud? Surely Watchdog would be a good place to start, plus you may end up on the telly!

Then ruthlessly hunted down by crims...
