This is a question Winning

I once won a gas boiler from The Guardian. Tell us about times you've won, and the excellent and/or crappy prizes you've lifted.

I won the bullying QotW

I didnt win a QOTW
But was very surprised to see one of mine in the newsletter

There are no winners on QOTW.

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 19:16, closed)
only losers?

(, Wed 4 May 2011, 19:33, closed)
Mostly fantasists

I've noticed that
The winner doesn't always get a mention. I know because when the newsletter comes out, the first thing I do is search for my user name.
Yes, I'm that self-absorbed.

Well
With the tendency to submit mini-essays, a lot of winning entries are too long.

The only time I've won QotW - it's the top answer in my profile -
it didn't get so much as a whisper in the newsletter.

I once had a line from a QotW story mentioned (it was the one about a Stoke shopkeeper complaining about hard-to-understand decimal currency in the early 1990s), but even then I wasn't credited.

Paradoxically
I made the newsletter with my 'pretending to be in the Millenium Falcon' thing on the snow question when it only came about 10th that week, so who knows how that works.

I imagine
that the answers are searched through as some gems inevitably get missed by the voting masses.

I think it's Rob's favorite of all the top votes that make the newsletter

(, Thu 5 May 2011, 4:53, closed)
Mine was in the newsletter once
And it hadn't made the popular answers page.

Top that.
