This is a question Worst Band Ever

If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

Chesney Hawkes
"I am the one and only" is a horrible little tune which, inexplicably, everyone in the club loves bellowing out at "that" stage of the evening. Poxy little tune. The rest of Mr Hawkes' oeuvre is similarly rubbish. Why so popular, eh? Good golly I hate his stuff.

While I'm here, why is there so much antipathy to Pendulum- what makes them so objectionable? I thought they were pretty good, but they've cropped up a couple of times so far this qotw, so I must be missing something.

I'm not sure a one hit wonder from 20+ years ago counts as "worst band ever"
I agree that it's shit and people who sing along need slapping.

No big fan of Chesney here,
but I don't think you can really complain about him being too popular.

Pendulum
Really enjoyed the first album. Some well produced DnB. Then they started writing poppy DnB for morons who think it's cool.

Always seemed a bit too formulaic.
'Epic' slow intro to the tune gives way to massive buzzy bass and the same D'n'B rhythm on most their tunes. Gave up after their third track. I wouldn't say they are the worst, but I also have wondered what the fuss is about.

EDIT: And Rob Swires' (?) stupid fucking soul patch. Wanker.

Pendulous
Started out making very very good DnB then sold out to the pop charts. What makes it worse is that they must know that what they are making is utter shit but they happily churn it out. The DnB community have nothing to do with them anymore.

Get really fucking drunk
then you'll appreciate it more.

The B side is better...
... as is so often the case.

Pendulum...
...are humourlessness personified, combined with being musically un-interesting and un-catchy. At least radiohead innovate and write some hooks into their music as well as being po-faced. Pendulum just seem to cut&paste all the boring bits of rock and dance music. I sincerely believe that they wrote the code for a computer to create their songs.
I don't like them very much.
