Only recently did I find out that b3ta is pronounced as beta, I've been calling it Be Three Ta :(
Even though I know it's wrong, you'll always be Be Three Ta to me, beta is a stranger!

I do sometimes refer to it as Beta, but more often than not I spell it out.

I thought it was Be Three Te Ae. Would never have guessed it was pronounced Beta. Wrong, but in a good way.

I worked out what it meant about the time I started reading regularly but, as has been mentioned above, if you want to tell someone about it you have to spell it out anyway.
