Anyone here seen Firefly?
I've just got the DVD set from Amazon. It's a sci-fi series by Joss Whedon, the guy that made Buffy. Except it's not really sci-fi, it's a Western that happens to be set in space in the future. And it's great. Everyone should go and buy it now. Or go here and download some of the episodes. Then buy it.

yep - I've seen it
looking forward to the film next year too.

It's awesome isn't it
I can't believe those fuckos at Fox cancelled it, hopefully the film will get it the attention it deserves and get the series going again.

Fox's commissioning guys are on crack,
they binned Futurama. Morons.

Cancelled Futurama?!
When?!
Why was I not informed?!
I DEMAND SATISFACTION!
(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 19:48, archived)
I thought it was quite well known!

(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 19:51, archived)
I would've thought so too
Oh well you learn something new everyday don't you. Bah! You mean I'm going to have to find something else to laugh at other than 'Bender'?
(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 19:52, archived)
I'm pleased they did
Futurama was utterly great. But the 90 odd episodes are enough for me.

They only made 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers and no one complained.

There were rumours of a return recently...
Apparently Futurama and Family Guy were given some late night slot as filler in the US, but they ended up trouncing everything in the ratings

Rumours then started that they were going to order new episodes of both, not sure what ever happened though...

Edit: Wired article here
Important Quote here:
"Last year, Futurama and Family Guy reruns did so well that it's likely both shows (which Fox killed in prime time) will produce new episodes."

They're definitely making more Family Guy
wouldn't be surprised if Futurama cam back too.

american dad
from the makers of family guy - the pilot looks awesome! :)
(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 20:03, archived)
There's that
But they're making more actual Family Guy too. And a movie.

yay
i have all 4 boxsets.

it's great - i was watching today in fact

EDIT: here have a homemade bender wallpaper!

Aww,
but it was still good! I mean, there are more than 90 good Simpsons episodes, Futurama could have run for much longer I reckon.

I'd like to see more
but it is good to go out on a high. The last few Series of Red Dwarf were just depressing.
(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 20:09, archived)
and family guy too

I reckon the "Western in Space" line was the shows problem
it put me off. It put a lot of people I know off.

But when I finally got round to watching it I was like, "wow! this is fucking great!"
(, Wed 25 Aug 2004, 19:42, archived)
I may have a look
can't do any harm
