Bath. Gin. Snogging. Snooze.
Why are you cross?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:47, archived)
OH LIMEY!
How's things at your chestier end?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:49, archived)
Stressful.
Three weeks til I finish uni and I'm stressing.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:51, archived)
Do you have somewhere to live in 3 weeks? A job lined up?
Any inclination of your mark?...

Me either :(
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:53, archived)
You could just crawl back to your parents' house, claim dole and mope about your room.
Then, if the government's new scheme comes in, they'll create a job for you after 12 months.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:57, archived)
What's this?
How can they "create" a job out of nowhere?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:58, archived)
It's a job or a training place.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:00, archived)
Oh.
They sent me to "training places". They were about as much use as a fridge in the Antarctic.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:01, archived)
A fridge would be useful in the Antarctic if you wanted to store something at between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius mind

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:03, archived)
no it wouldn't.
you'd have to run the pump backwards, and it would struggle to maintain anything like that kind of temperature gradient. And that's if the exchange fluid doesn't just freeze.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:05, archived)
Unless of course it was inside a heated building.
Like most fridges in the world are
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:21, archived)
but it wouldn't be,
because it would be in the Antarctic. Like I said.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:26, archived)
Maybe in your hypothetical scenario
But not in mine
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:44, archived)
My metaphor,
my hypothetical scenario.
Jeez, I should have said chocolate fireguard, that would have attracted less criticism, despite the fact it has one very obvious use.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:46, archived)
You could use the heat exchanger
as a source of warmth. Having plugged it in to one of those Antarctic plugs.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:03, archived)
Only if it were somewhere warm, of course. Inside, maybe.
With the plugs.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
or an air-conditioning unit where the outlet exhausts into the same room it's supposed to be cooling.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:03, archived)
Training places aren't meant to be useful.
They're meant to look like somebody somewhere is doing something useful.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:06, archived)
they're meant to get you off benefits for 13 weeks,
so it looks like nobody has been on them for more than however long they like, but the money still comes from the same place, only under a different budget.

EXCEPT they still kept me on 10p of JSA a week, otherwise I'd have lost my housing benefit and free prescriptions, so it's all completely pointless anyway.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:08, archived)
This is what I thought.
It was on the news a week or two ago, and they offered no explanation.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:00, archived)
I don't want to do that.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:02, archived)
best get a job then.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:09, archived)
Yeah
but I'm applying for scholarships first.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:09, archived)
MSc or PhD?
They're usually desperate for people to do postgrad stuff, the money burns a hole in their pockets.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:10, archived)
Ph.D
Here if I can.

The topic I want to do is done Bristol, Here, Glasgow and Southampton, as well as amsterdam and some places in germany.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:14, archived)
In the flat what my godfather bought me, working in PR til I decide what I want to do properly and no, no idea.
Two out of three ain't bad.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:58, archived)
hahaha
welcome to an ENTIRE LIFE of working in PR. That's how careers go.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:59, archived)
Yup.
/Ten years of insurance hell
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
Godfathers buy their godchildren flats?
Fook, how do I offload a godson?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:00, archived)
My godparents are rubbish to me
Maybe I could hold auditions for new ones.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:02, archived)
How do I broach the subject with my godfather?

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:02, archived)
This.
Mine was handy for decent pressies over the years. Dried up since I hit 22. Disgraceful.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
I'm not completely sure who my godfather is.
I'm assuming that it is my godmother's husband. It was a long time ago.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:05, archived)
Nope, not how it works.
Usually mother picks godmother, father picks godfather.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:09, archived)
My Godfather is called "Drinks".

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:13, archived)
This but it was at 18, my high school graduation.
He's fucking loaded, I wonder what I have to do to get some money.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:07, archived)
Marry him.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:07, archived)
He is married. He's got three daughters. They're all old enough to be my mum.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:15, archived)
Chin up pet!
Only three weeks.
Plenty of weeks to fuck about in afterwards.

I really should start giving speeches at universities.
I'm quite the encourager of people.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:54, archived)
Can't do bath, it's full of the lodger's hair.
I have gin.
No-one here to snog.
Too much to do to snooze.

I'm trying to sort out a sound system setup that a) does what I want it to do, b) I can afford, and c) will physically fit in my lounge.
I might have to get a man in.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:49, archived)
Get lodger to clean bath, snog him as payment, get a man in to sort the speakers, snog him too, drink gin, snooze.
DONE.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:50, archived)
You've got this all worked out.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:52, archived)
It's my favourite fantasy. Video it all.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:53, archived)
Then we can both watch it on the new cinema setup.
TOP IDEA.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:54, archived)
I'm VERY confused at this concept of a man CLEANING the bath.
:(
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:54, archived)
I'm even more confused by the concept of a man's hair clogging the bath.
Long hair is for girls, surely?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:59, archived)
Pubes and body hair.

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:02, archived)
How long/loose are your pubes that they're going to clog the bath?

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
to read the subtitles aloud and hum the theme tune?

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 19:50, archived)
YES.
